I like it. I know nothing about him, but I like not just settling for Slovis. Slovis has P5 experience, but his stats have gotten worse each season. He needs to earn his QB1 status.

I like it. I know nothing about him, but I like not just settling for Slovis. Slovis has P5 experience, but his stats have gotten worse each season. He needs to earn his QB1 status.

I read a little bit from one of the coaches and said he basically was in a battle with Jaxon Dart at USC and lost the battle so the coach didn't really want him around. He went to Pitt and after he committed, they changed offensive coordinators and their star WR Jordan Addison entered the transfer portal. Without the calibur of WR they had previously had, they focused more on the run in 2022 putting up nearly double the rushing yards vs passing yards. He also reportedly had a concussion during the season and was troubled by a shoulder injury. All that combined to hurt his stats.

That said, there is rumor that BYU is adding another QB (possibly from a JC) and they added Springville's Ryder Burton in the 2023 class who had 1758 yards passing, 20 TDs and 4 INTs during his senior year.
