I thought this game was gonna happen last week in Laramie! I didn't think UNM would play like this... nor did I think BYU would play that bad.

...and hopeful this gets a lame performance out of the way before the AF/Utah stretch. Certainly the coaches will have their attention this coming week.

Re: BYU - New Mexico Game thread
Our D-Line has got to change. They don't put pressure on the QB and the DB's get victimized. This is just sickening. They don't really rush until the very end of the game. They seem to be soooooo woried about the run game they just hold their gap and after a few seconds try to push through their blocker, and finally put pressure seven or eight seconds after the WR's took off! Other teams are able to both stop the run and rush the QB. I can't wait till this line is gone so we can see if its the coaches or the players. I am sick of our db's and lb's looking silly becuase they can't stay with the WR's for eight seconds. C'mon coach! How about a little pressure! Also, it helps to not be an open book. Screen play on so many obvious blitzes. Just very poor play.

Good teams find ways to win when everything goes wrong, I'll take the bullet dodge this week and trust that we return to playing real cougar football next week.

Very ugly win but I will take it nonetheless! I don't know why we are so concerned with the margin of victory. A win is a win and we still have no chance of making it in the BCS this year so the rankings would not matter. I thought New mexico played extremely hard for a team that is 0-9 make that 0-10.

Once again I think it was the LBs that let us down, losing Hooks early really hurt us. The LBs are the ones who should have stopped many of those 15+ yard screens. Created more pressure on the QB and drop more effectively into coverage.imuakahuku wrote:Our D-Line has got to change. They don't put pressure on the QB and the DB's get victimized.
