Re: TCU-BYU Game Thread
#80 was blanketed, the ball should have never been thrown. Heaps looks terrible. He looks worse this week then he did in the Washington game. Yes the TCU defense is really good but he needs to be smarter. You GET RID OF THE BALL when your back is next to the goal line. Heaps gives up a sack. He isn't making the correct reads and isn't getting rid of the ball on time. Frankly, the ONLY chance BYU has to even get on the board in this game is to figure out a way to start run blocking. I have no confidence in Heaps to complete a pass.mizzoucoug wrote:You still never get the point. Heaps is finally unleashed to throw the ball in the last 2 mins deep in our own territory? WTF is that? Anae doesn't know what he is doing. And besides #80 was the target receiver but probably would've dropped it anyway.frdbtr wrote:All you guys calling for Anae's head have to ask yourselves....who was Heaps throwing too? The ONLY guy open was the guy who caught the ball. Heaps looks terrible.

Agreed. Change won't happen. Even Kariya ran the ball well, when he had the chance, but we don't use him again.Italics wrote:you should seriously know by now that this is not going to happen.storminmormon wrote:What happened to the wildcat look with Marshall? We've got to try something different in the 2nd half.

Bronco knew that the defensive coordinator was expendable, because he was an awesome DC. If he would dump Anae, who could fill in???

the real question is: Who could possibly be more incompetent than Anae?SenorCougar wrote:Bronco knew that the defensive coordinator was expendable, because he was an awesome DC. If he would dump Anae, who could fill in???

Re: TCU-BYU Game Thread
People can try to spread the blame around for why our offense sucks, but there is no way anyone can honestly absolve Anae from this disgraceful season. He has failed to prepare the players he has. He has failed to understand that the defensive coordinators he faces each week don't all have brain damage and can read him like a Twilight novel.
Bronco could fire Anae this week and replace him with a magic 8 ball and the play book and we'd get more creative play calling.
I never gave up on Crowton because he at least seemed like he was trying. Anae is a slug. I'm starting to think we've been 10-2 for the last few years because of Anae.....he's been holding us back from our real potential.

Re: TCU-BYU Game Thread
Well, since Bronco fired Hill, and turned the D around, I think it's a logical next step to replace Anae. He has shown pretty brutal ineptitude here, with critical mistakes that have cost the game.
I'm with Mars. BYU, because of offensive play calling and horrific execution, and historical ineptitude when playing from behind, his game is over. Our only hope now is that the offense can at very least hold the ball long enough to help the D keep this thing from becoming a complete bitchslap beatdown. But realistically it's not much of a hope.
Sigh.

Anae will be fired at the end of this season, and Doman will replace him.SenorCougar wrote:Bronco knew that the defensive coordinator was expendable, because he was an awesome DC. If he would dump Anae, who could fill in???
Higgins will be fired as well.

I have ZERO faith in Robert Anae. 14 pts v. TCU in 10 quarters now. I am sorry, but his players have to feel the same way. He can not scheme for TCU. He sucks arse.
