I think we were treaty plenty fairly, especially given the amount of home cookin' that sometimes accompanies 'intersectional' early-season games.

There were a lot of no calls either way. And that is fine. Call it close, or don't call it at all, just don't call it all one way.
Watch JP. He got about 20 no calls the entire game. He was right there @ the qb, then he'd get held or pushed in the back.

Re: One Penalty
The only thing I had a problem with was on the kickoff after Ole Miss' last field goal, it seemed to me that the Ole Miss player on the tackle should have been called for unnecessary roughness considering he lifted the BYU return man up and pile drove him into the ground. Completely unnecessary.

Yeah but even that was kind of a laugher since he totally missed when tried the pile drive...Ungoy wrote:The only thing I had a problem with was on the kickoff after Ole Miss' last field goal, it seemed to me that the Ole Miss player on the tackle should have been called for unnecessary roughness considering he lifted the BYU return man up and pile drove him into the ground. Re: One Penalty
In the end, only the horsecollar tackle really mattered. That was a frustration tackle, and if that guy tackles properly BYU's momentum is seriously killed at a critical time.

Gotta say I'm a huge fan of that rule. Looks like it could be (and has been) a killer on knees/ankles/bones.CAFB_04-12 wrote:In the end, only the horsecollar tackle really mattered. That was a frustration tackle, and if that guy tackles properly BYU's momentum is seriously killed at a critical time.
