I really like Doman. I wish our head coach had this attitude. Also, I think Hawks "source" or "collection of".... whatever he said is wrong:
Brandon doman post practice comments re: the quarterback position.
"I'm not naive," he said. "I understand that we haven't performed to the expectations of the fans and it's an entertainment sport. Without fans, you don't have football. I love the fans and I'm grateful that there is a game of football.
“Sometimes you perform under the expectations of the fans and the critics and that's OK that they say what they feel. I'll do the best I can. We'll finish as hard as we can and then evaluate what has happened and do the best we can to repair what we need to repair."
But he also said that if Nelson continues to have movement issues with relation to the injury, that would make the decision very easy.
In the end, Doman said the decision will be made by Mendenhall.
"That's why he gets paid all the big bucks to make the big decisions," Doman said.

Look back and "evaluate"? Not under Bronco 'only look forward' watch.

Even these quotes go a long long way with the fans. BD is not tussling in the weeds with the fans. He's also not totally double speaking himself. Smart fans can hear what Doman is saying. Most of us know we are driveling, spoiled fans with "high expectations" as Doman says. But he isn't tussling. Nor is he blowing a lot of sunshine. He's not swinging at pitches in the dirt that fans or media are pitching. Granted he isn't the HC and I don't want to turn this into a BD vs BM thing. But words have meaning and they get quoted over and over. A coach either plants good seeds or bad seeds. And Bronco has planted both, but the bad ones, the "uneducated" ones, the in-advisable one's have over taken over the good ones like weeds in a tough season.

If Doman comes back next year, he's going to be in a real bind to show, for the first time in his coaching career, a positive development. I haven't seen anything yet that gives me hope he can, but I still hope he does.

I think I said this about Barack Obama in 2008
except instead of coaching it was doing something productive with all his power.

This makes it pretty clear that BD is reading Cougar Corner regularly.
