I'm no Ute Bib - actually, I think what's happening to the Utes is exactly what was to be expected as a PAC 12 member... that program is not good enough to compete with the majority of teams in the PAC 12 just like the Cougs are not a program that can succeed in independence owing to the quality opposition on the schedule - both the Cougs and Utes belong in a conference like the Big East - that's just about right for who they are.Cougarbib wrote:AW - things have really gotten bad over on the Hill, haven't they. Shouldn't you be busy analyzing the Ute's next loss and the increasing clouds over their bowl plans. It is unfortunate that they no longer seem able to keep U entertained.

Only owing to wins against San Jose State, Idaho and New Mexico State.TulaneVandyRiceCoug wrote:I know that BYU's season has not turned out the way we had hoped, but sheesh, at least we'll head to a bowl.

SJSU wins.Airwolf1984 wrote:Only owing to wins against San Jose State, Idaho and New Mexico State.TulaneVandyRiceCoug wrote:I know that BYU's season has not turned out the way we had hoped, but sheesh, at least we'll head to a bowl.Although, San Jose State won't be a pushover and could pose some problems - they're good this year, but I still don't see the Cougs losing that game, especially since Utah State destroyed them 49-27 (you gotta admit though... 27 points against Utah State's D is impressive). The Aggie D is for real.
They put up more than a 100 yards of offense against USU than we did and 21 more points. All that with their QB getting sacked 13 times. SJSU put up 450+ yards in the air and I have no confidence in our secondary. SJSU can move the ball. It will come down to how well we can move the ball.

Maybe I'm just ignorant, but I am so confident that BYU will beat SJSU and in convincing fashion that I would be wiling to bet my 2 year daughter on it. (and she's actually pretty awesome!) There is just no way BYU will lose to SJSU. You guys that believe so are nuts. SJSU is all smoke and mirrors. I would honestly bet Utah is a better team. Ut. St.'s D is good/alright not great. We just sucked on offense against them. So please everybody quit the doom and gloom, we won't lose to them. I laugh when I see posts like this... but again I'm probably just ignorant ;Gunk wrote:SJSU wins.Airwolf1984 wrote:Only owing to wins against San Jose State, Idaho and New Mexico State.TulaneVandyRiceCoug wrote:I know that BYU's season has not turned out the way we had hoped, but sheesh, at least we'll head to a bowl.Although, San Jose State won't be a pushover and could pose some problems - they're good this year, but I still don't see the Cougs losing that game, especially since Utah State destroyed them 49-27 (you gotta admit though... 27 points against Utah State's D is impressive). Re: BYU-Georgia Tech: some numbers
Oh geeez, thirteen sacks and they still had 450+ passing? So their quarterback can basically take hits, then make plays, take hits, make plays...Yeah, SJSU might beat us. Scoring that much on USU this year is really no easy task.
Great, now I'm not so chipper about the rest of our games. Georgia Tech will be hard enough, but I think and hope we can handle them. It hurts to say, but wow, anything north of 6-6 and bowl eligible...I'll take it! Hooray for lowered expectations!
I think I may focus more attention on the Vandy games for this last stretch of the season. (Because Tulane and Rice are seriously awful.) Can't wait for them to beat Tennessee!!!
