I think the committee is making a strong push to keep NCAA OOC scheduling from going the way of NCAA football (looking at you, SEC). BYU gets in, SMU stays out. Gotta start playing good competition, people want to see good football.

I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,
I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

The good news is Wolfie is as good as his brand. I do not need to read one word (and don't), because I already know what he'll be saying. In the end, the RPI don't lie and is pretty much the best measure of a season of work. And BYU's RPI justifies them dancing and at a 10 seed. Period. Exclamation Point. Finis

Agreed. Utah's OOC scheduling probably did them in too (plus a horrific last game loss to AZ)

Wow... was looking at Oregon's schedule... they lost 5 games by a combined 12 points (2, 4, 2, 2, 2). They could easily be sitting at 28-4. With KC, I'd say BYU has a 40% shot at beating Oregon, but without him, zero.

Ironic, you could say the same thing about us... (another reason airwolf can't be taken serious) ... keeping in mind overtimes which are always 1 point losses, I dont' care if the other team losses by 50 in OT it was a 1 point loss because 1 point keeps you from OT.

We were 1 more free throw from beating Oregon at their place... now we're on a neutral court. I think Oregon opens as 4 point favorites and I would say we're a coinflip. This game will come down to Mika/Austin... Oregon can be beaten on the glass.

Seems like a lot of people think BYU got better than they deserved and now have the pressure on them to prove the committee right. Look at this article for example: http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/cougars/57 ... e.html.csp
This is a bunch of crap!
BYU is seeded right where they deserve. Their resume supports their invite and Seed. By nature of the seeding, they are expected to lose, not win. They don't have to win to justify their inclusion in the Big Dance, they got the invite, deservedly so. If they beat Oregon, it will be an upset and will turn a lot of heads.
It will take a lot to win this game, but I think we can do it. I give us a 40% chance of success.

Stop before you embarrass yourself anymore. You continue to make comments that shred any semblance of credibility you may think you have. BYU lost "7 of their 9 important, quality non conference games..." Say it ain't so Joe...errrr....Wolfie. Fact: BYU went 8-5 during the non-conference portion of the schedule, yet you say they went 2-7 in their "important, quality" non-conference games? BYU had 4 losses during the non-conference portion of the schedule against teams in the "important, quality" category; Wichita St., UMass, Iowa St., and Oregon (who are all dancing btw), and 2 wins against teams in this category; Texas and Stanford (who are both dancing btw). BYU was 6-1 against the rest of the non-conference schedule, or those teams who you would consider to be non-important and non-quality. Like I said before Wolfie, nothing to see here. Now move along please :) Go Cougars!
Wins:

Stanford
Texas

Losses:

Iowa State
Wichita State
UMass
Utah
Oregon

My bad... they were 2-5.
The loss to Utah was an "important and quality" loss? Hahahahahahahahaha..........Sorry Wolfie but that loss ranks right in there with the losses to the likes of LMU, Portland, Pacific, and Pepperdine. I will concede you this point. Those were 5 bad losses that the committee overlooked in giving BYU a well-deserved #10 seed due to it's strong non-conference SOS and quality wins over the entire course of the season. If it makes you feel any better, BYU was only at least 5-1 against teams in this year's NIT field :) Good luck in Moraga tomorrow night. Go Cougars!

One of the things I've always enjoyed about this forum is that it's relatively free from abuse. It has become virtually impossible to carry on any kind of discussion on the ESPN website regarding anything having to do with BYU sports because of one troll who must have nothing else in his life, because he spends all of his time making inane, bigoted comments. I'm amazed that he hasnt' been banned from commenting there.

Although it's fine to have differences in opinion, when those "opinions" are nothing more than bigotry masked as sports comments, they become intolerable. I don't think Wolfie has fallen to that level, but it is clear that there is a consistent negative viewpoint. Fans are supposed to support teams, not tear them down.

Back to the game - I do think that it will be difficult without KC. But if everyone plays up to their ability and keeps their heads, they could pull it off.
