Can I suggest an improvement? New users have to take a BYU fan exam. kind of like those honesty tests. That would keep the trolls out!

Thanks for the invite. From the looks of the other fans who have posted here I feel happy to be back among friends. Too bad for the other site. I truly enjoyed it for a good long while. Besides, this makes it easier to follow my predictions and good threads without having to visit two places. Thanks Hawkwing and Kiwi and whoever else I may be missing.
Go Cougs!!!

nice idea, but I would say we'd want to welcome fans from opposing teams to post here. We're not trying to promote homogeneity but civility.Bring on the opposing viewpoints, they should just be posted with some degree of intelligence and non-trollism.
by the way. I think I've made 100% switch. I don't have time to post on two boards. yay...up to 30 posts!

I'm a big fan of the "Fan Level" designation that goes along with each user. It's saved me a few times from starting useless arguments with people, as I took their comments in context of their fan level I realized it was just a difference of investment and it wasn't worth trying to win someone over to my blue-goggled view. I think it might save a lot of future arguments when opposing teams show up here with obscure usernames also.
I wonder, if someone falsely designates themselves (ie. steed shows up and sarcastically labels himself as a blue-goggled homer, can the mods change it back and lock that feature for that user?

You make a good point and have a good question. I thought or at least hoped, when I first made the fan level designation it would actually help us understand one another better, and I hope that people actually take some consideration when setting it.
Now if Steed were to come here, of course he'd be banned, but I would hope that if fans of other teams do come here and want to engage in serious conversation that they put their fan level status appropriately. I could totally see texastim here, setting his as 'Fan of another team' and that would help give us perspective into why he's saying what he is.

I've known of this place for a time, but am glad Mars invited me as I've been so busy I've not been able to stop by.
Does that mean I am now a "newbie" again?!!!!
Good to see the gang is still active as CB has gone pretty stale this season.

Sno sent me an invite so I thought I'd check out the site. I've been getting my forum fix mostly from the geekshow podcast forum (the discussions don't have all of the angst and anger that seemed to be attached to disagreements on cb, which is why I gave up on it). I don't know that I'll post here much, but I'll check it out once in a while. I hope all of you are doing well.

The more we see you here the better, our friendly neighborhood super-hero!
