There is always some attrition for various reasons--thought this thread could capture them for a better view rather than having several individual threads.

Sophomore DB Jaylon Vickers has announced he is leaving football. He was in his first year with the program after serving a mission but did not make an appearance while dealing with a torn hamstring. His family situation also changed since returning from his mission--getting married and then the birth of a child last month. I believe he was a walk-on.

DB Jacques Wilson has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, per a source with access to the database. Wilson was a 2020 signed from the JUCO ranks who never really saw extensive playing time. He appeared in two games for #BYUfootball this season.

TE Bentley Hanshaw has entered the transfer portal. He has 1 appearance in 2020 (vs LaTech) with no stats. He had a redshirt year in 2017, served a mission in 2018-2019, free covid-19 year in 2020, and his freshman year in 2021.
Hanshaw's departure also frees up a scholarship for next year.

Best of luck to him. I hope injuries do not hurt his draft position.

Casey Lundquist's article on players leaving this year confirmed our suspicion that WR Neil Pau'u is indeed leaving BYU by accepting his invitation to the Hula Bowl.
RB Lopini Katoa indicated that he changed his mind and will be returning for his "Senior" season at the bowl game.
All eyes are now on Tyler Allgeier and Gunner Romney.
