So what does it mean if a junior is on this list? They probably not coming back?

Re: Frustrating 2022--but big changes coming
Those included on this list are those who are considering moving on after this season (NFL, job prospects, completed degree, moving on, etc.) so they are going to be honored this year in the final home game. They DO have the option based on future conversations to return as they still have some eligibility remaining. Examples from last year are Katoa and Romney who were honored in senior night but then opted to return. So it is not a definitive list, but are those who would need to do something to stay--like get into grad school, pull their name back from NFL consideration, etc.byufan4ever wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 3:59 pm So what does it mean if a junior is on this list? Re: Frustrating 2022--but big changes coming
Basically the list now includes all those listed as seniors or juniors with the exception of:
DB Mory Bamba (Junior)
DB Jacob Boren (Junior)
LB Tavita Gagnier (Junior)
RB Hinckley Ropati (Junior)
OL Lisala Tai (Junior)
The list does have Sophomores:
DB Ammon Hannemann
RB Jackson McChesney
The free covid year has everything kinda crazy. In any case, the team could possibly lose 37 of the 123 players on the team this year. They could be very young and inexperienced in the first year in the Big 12.

Re: Frustrating 2022--but big changes coming
I just saw that Jay Drew said that Hall is 95% gone and Puka is 75% gone. Not sure how accurate that is, but what does everyone else think?
I really want Conover to play AT LEAST half of the game against Utah Tech. I wouldn't even mind him starting and playing the entire game. Not because I don't like Hall, but Hall has been banged up and we really shouldn't need him this game. Heck, if Hall is really 95% on the way out he should probably remove himself from the game. Why risk injury? What does he have to gain by playing against Utah Tech?

Young and inexperienced may not be the worst thing in the world. We'll see. This year we were old and experienced and disappointing.
I too would love to see Conover play. But then again, he should have played when Hall was injured and ineffective.

Gunner Romney told KSL sports that he is "most likely be heading out after this year". He indicated it has been a frustrating year to start out healthy and then suffer the kidney injury that has kept him on the sideline. He also said he is "questionable" for the Utah Tech game today.

Re: Frustrating 2022--but big changes coming
The decommits are starting to roll in. First Hawaii DL Stanley Raas flips his commitment to Utah and now RB Landen Chambers from Texas has re-opened his recruiting. I thought everyone wanted to play for BYU next year in the Big 12...
