Him and a dozen others out there today according to ESPN.

What an enigma. Just don't really know what we had or lost.

Looks like Cade Fennegan moves up to QB2 for the bowl game.

Conover was either really bad or really mismanaged. With Hall most likely gone are we going into the transfer portal to get a QB1 with P5 experience? That's what I want. I believe Texas has a QB in the portal...

Ok, I updated the title of the thread to keep all these in here. But adding another player:
OL Campbell Barrington hits the transfer portal. He was a sophomore this year.

Conover is a surprise. He would be competing for the starting job.

I wish they'd leave the notion of having prayed and received confirmation to move on from BYU football out of their declaration. By no means am I discounting what someone declares they received as an answer to prayer, but to me, it's the same as telling a kid that wants to go to a movie with friends on a Sunday and being asked to go pray about it comes out of his room and says, "God said it was okay." And, by no means am I saying all members of the Church need to go to BYU, but the notion that it was what God wanted before and now He doesn't? I have trouble believing that to be true, based solely on my experiences.

I know some of the analysts and those who know the players are lamenting these losses, but as a fan without personal connections, it is hard to lament too much.

OFFENSE
Jacob Conover
5 games over the past 2 years. 0-1 in 2022 in passing, 5-10 for 45 yards in 2021. 1 rush for 5 yards.

Campbell Barrington
15 games over the past 2 years. Didn't start this year in 8 appearances after starting 6 of 7 games last year.

Terence Fall
19 games over the past 3 years. Appeared in all 12 games in 2022. 1 catch for 19 yards and 2 rushes for 27 yards and a TD over his career. Mainly played on special teams.

DEFENSE
Logan Fano
0 game appearances. Returned from a mission and enrolled in January 2022 but suffered an ACL injury in spring ball.

Tate Romney
No career stats in 3 appearances in 2022.

I know the defense was weak and we didn't get to see these two guys contribute. But without a personal connection, availability is part of your ability and we never were able to benefit from the skills they showed in high school. Which is too bad. But at the end of the day, did we ever really benefit from having them? Were they expected to contribute or did they lose some standing with the injuries and would now have to fight for a spot to contribute? Barrington I think had contributed the most of all these--but even he had lost his starting spot this year after starting as a freshman.
