Are we going to have a conference season basketball predictions game like you set up for football? I think it would be fun and am happy to participate.
Go Cougs!!!

That's a great idea.
I'll see if I can make something work...

This would be tricky, but also would be very cool and would drive even more traffic to this site, I think.

What would you like to have the questions be in a basketball prediction game? I'm not promising anything yet, but I'd like to look into it more.

Hmm...
Final Score
Which team has more:
Rebounds
Steals
Blocks
Assists
3 pointers
Free throws
Better FG %
Better 3 %
Better free throw %
Top scorer overall
Bonus:
Which BYU player leads the team in points scored this game?
Just some possible options...

Great place to start. I like the option.
To Mars' list I would add turnovers. And instead of
Better Fg%, 3 pt%, FT% I would say
predict the percentages would be more fun. Much like the yardage in the football game. (I wish I could remember to play the football prediction more).

I thought of turnovers, but wasn't basketball savvy enough to tell if they were redundant with steals or different.
I do like the idea of predicting the 3-point and field goal shooting percentages though.

Turnovers and steals are very different. You can get a turnover by just throwing the ball away, dribbling off your foot out of bounds or taking a charge.

great point Qman but I think you meant "throwing the ball away, dribbling off your foot out of bounds or
getting called fora charge. Taking a charge would be a good thing while the rest of your list are BAD things.
Team turnovers are one the first things I look for in the boxscore. I heard that over 90% of games are won if a team wins the shooting percentage battle and has fewer turnovers. But you know what they say about stats.
I also think this is a reason why so many people find basketball officiating frustrating. If a team has just a few turnovers called against them (charges, travels, etc) that is a potential 6 point swing, and 4 point swing is likely. Basketball refs and parking police. One in the same.

So the real question is, if I make this system, I would need someone who would be willing to enter in all the statistics after each game. I wont be able to with my schedule, would anyone be willing to do it? You'd have to enter the stats within 24 hours of the finish of the game.
