Let me be clear
I like you Bronco, and I want you to stay. You have built a great program, and I respect you for what you have done on and off the field in these young men's lives. I don't want to write a 10 page love letter, and am pretty sure this won't ever get to you, but if you DO go 1-10 this season, it would break my heart to see you resign. I think we need to work on cohesion with co-ordinators, and I think maybe you need to take over the defensive play calling (because you are VERY good at it). There are some things that need to be worked on, but myself, with an entire nation of cougar fans would not accept your resignation. I will forever remember the way you stepped up and pulled us out of some of the darkest years we have ever had. You can do this, you can turn our team around. And you have my support in that regard.

Ditto! And if there is disharmony among some of your coaches (which I think there has been since at least last year) then get them in line or GET THEM OUT! You care too much and are too valuable to allow your most trusted coaches to take you down. Others will step up if OC or DC need to go!

Ditto, perfectly added. Don't take it all on yourself, others will follow if you lead.dmcougar wrote:Ditto! This is a great post. I trust in Bronco that things will get turned around.

Personally, if there is one side of the ball that is in need of more attention by their head coach it is the offensive side. Bronco has left the offense alone every year he's been there. It is the offense where the greatest issues are. Bronco needs to focus on the offense. IMO, it lacks player and coach leadership right now and is in great need of some.

I can't think of any games (outside of TCU 08, maybe Arizona 08) that the defense didn't give the offense a chance to win the game.kitic77 wrote:Personally, if there is one side of the ball that is in need of more attention by their head coach it is the offensive side. Re: Let me be clear
TCU 08 was not the defense. The offense fumbled on their first series on their own 40, TD TCU on the next play, 7-0. Next series: three-and-out; still 7-0. TCU got the ball and BYU forced a fumble. Then the offense failed to convert a 4&1 with Unga on the TCU 28-yard line in the first quarter; 7-0. TCU scores 14-0. Next offensive series: Interception at the TCU 30. TCU FG, 17-0. Next offensive series: punt. TCU scores 24-0. The offense was completely dominated that first half. The defense made plays and gave the offense chances to make plays to either win or stay in the game and they couldn't.
About the only game that Bronco has coached as the HC where the defense didn't give them a chance to win were FSU 08, Tulsa 07, and ND 05.

Re: Let me be clear
I agree with that. But in the spectrum that we had good offensive talent, so there was less pressure on the D. I mean, when you are scoring 30+ there isn't much pressure on the D to stop everytime. So the D has been far from flawless, but it hasn't been the reason we lose, all of the time.kitic77 wrote:TCU 08 was not the defense. Re: Let me be clear
but...I would have expected Bronco to have "fixed" things after the FSU game, then after the Nevada game, now we're almost mid-season, things should have been fixed long before now.
