Don't forget that BYU has played nearly half their games away from the Marriott Center. BYU has played nine of 19 games away from Provo. BYU is 8-1 in those games. BYU has played eight true road games.

Here's the number of games away from home (as represented by their ranking) for the teams (from last week's rankings) ranked ahead of us.

1.Texas - 5-0 (3 true road games)

2. Kentucky 5-0 (3 true road games)

3. Kansas 4-1 (4 true road games)

4. Villanova 6-1 (4 true road games)

5. Syracuse 6-0 (4 true road games)

6. Purdue 6-2 (4 true road games)

7. Michigan St 4-3 (5 true road games)

8. Duke 3-2 (2 true road games)

9. Tennessee 4-2 (2 true road games)

10. West Virginia 6-2 (5 true road games)

11. Georgetown 5-2 (5 true road games)

12. North Carolina 1-4 (3 true road games)

13. Kansas St 6-1 (4 true road games)

13. Wisconsin 4-4 (5 true road games)

15. Connecticut 0-5 (3 true road games)

16. Pittsburgh 5-2 (4 true road games)

17. Gonzaga 7-2 (5 true road games)

People can talk all they want about how weak our schedule is. But we've played more road games and more games away from home than any team ranked in front of us. We've played three more true road games than anyone. BYU is proving to be an excellent team.

I don't know if rankings come out tomorrow because the holiday but when they do, BYU will move ahead of Connecticut, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Georgetown. BYU will be at least 14 and I could see them moving up to 12 or 13. If we go 2-0 this week, I bet we're in the top 10 by the end of January.

Good points, but I'm only counting 6 TRUE road games. Are you counting the tournament games in Vegas? Either way, 6 true road games is still more than anyone else on there.

I think we only hit 14 unfortunately. As you said, we will pass those 4 teams, but I'm pretty sure Pitt will leap us. And I don't think WV will fall below us. I'll tell you who we should jump though (but definitely will not), is Gonzaga. I'm not saying I think they are bad, but I have probably watched half of their games this year and I am not impressed. I'm positive Fredette and Emery would make fools of Bouldin...man I hate Bouldin...

Granted, playing Nevada in Nevada....might as well be home for them. Then again, we do get a good following there.
