poor guy....

Just like Beck... got thrown to the Lions in his first real NFl action and made a bad decision, threw a bad ball and got an INT on his stats already.

Some coaches are retarded.

Too bad. It's the "Bigs!" A steep learning curve. I always pull for Max.

he played today? can't expect a rookie to not have some mistakes.
M
Metal Bubba
He was 2-2 on passes today. Too bad one of those completions was to the other team.

Was this in garbage time or did they expect hall to turn around the carnage?

from the write up on ESPN it sounded like garbage time, just for the experience. he learned quickly by throwing an INT.
B

At least we know he throws a catchable ball.

I hate when people say that someone was ruined by being played too early. Either you can play or you can't. John Elway and Troy Aikman weren't hurt by playing too early.

So in your mind John Beck was never going to be a starter in the NFL?

I have to believe that if coached properly and had time to learn from a vet before getting his ass absolutely handed to him and losing all confidence he would be in a much better place right now... at least better than a 3rd string.

This way he can't say "if coach would just have put me in in the fourth quarter...we'd have taken State...I just know it"

I never though beck would be a good nfl qb. too weak mentally. very gifted physically but missing the killer mentality. can't handle pressure unless its packaged the right way. would take perfect storm for him to succeed in the nfl.

max has is mentally but doesn't have hte physical gifts of beck. if you could only put those two together.

What about guys like Jeff George, Heath Shuler? They just couldn't play, huh? Maybe they would have developed. Guys like Matt Schaub and Kurt Warner needed time, they weren't world beaters immediately out of college. Guys like Mark Bulger and Matt Hasselbeck road the bench for a while and learned? Do you think Aaron Rogers would have been successful in San Francisco or did he benefit from a few years of studying in Green Bay?

There is something to player development. Not everyone is ready from the first day. Some are, most aren't.
