New Helmet Stickers

Okay, at the risk of looking stupid or lazy, because there has probablyy already been a thread on the subject— I just noticed the new helmet stickers. Does anyone know anything about them? They are darker or more solid blue and some seem to have X's through them. They didn't appear to be the old cougar head sticker.

I noticed that the stickers were a bit different this year too. Anyone have any information on them?

I don't know about the new ones but they are rewards for what they do.

I know the stickers have been around since Bronco took over. I further understand that some are given for game performances and accomplishing certain goals. Others are given for service. However, in the past they have just been a picture of a cougars face and head. This year they seem to be different. Perhaps someone who has more time and energy than I could find some pictures and do a comparison.

Stickers go back to LaVell days years ago. They are nothing new at all, just the reason they are given out change. I thnk position coaches award them based upon how a player grades out each week after film review.

They stopped using them the last few years under Lavell b/c, from what I understand, players we beginning to focus on individual performance.



Bronco brought them back, but they are given out for team accomplishments and reaching team goals. At least that is how it started out.



I too noticed the new stickers, but I don't know the story behind them.

I believe there are two colors to the stickers. One color is for team accomplishments (holding an opponent under 14 points, scoring more than 30, X amount of TD or 1st downs, stuff like that) and the other is for service/scholastic (volunteering, certain grades, etc.)

Yes, the stickers are a new design this year. I haven't gotten a close enough picture yet to show the difference, but I have noticed that the stickers are definitely a different design.

"JJ! You just got hit by not one, but TWO linebackers, and son I still see the ball in your hands! Know what else is gonna be in yer hands soon? A sticker, boy! As you put it on your helmet!"



"Safeties! Did I just see each of y'all today not completely and utterly take the run-bait and stick to the deep threat man in at least one play? I'll tell ya' one thing ya' AIN'T all gonna be safe from - stickers!"

I thought some of them were pretty funny. I couldn't help but read them with a twang. Don't know why because Bronco most certainly does not have a twang. I think I was reading them with a Bobby Bowden voice. :)
