I'm glad we don't play UNLV this year. I think a fast, swarming defense is our kryptonite right now.

I think a slow swarming defense would be a kryptonite for us.

We just don't move around on offense. Everyone just stands around the key, and we don't have a drive and dish guy yet.

I haven't seen a game yet this season. We're still standing arounds? Ugh...

I figured last season that was a result of Jimmer - clear out the middle to let Jimmer do his thing. The fact we're still standing around is a bad, bad sign, and I find it ironic because it was Noah who boasted during the off season there was going to be a return Rose's high-tempo, fast paced offense (lack we ever got away from it).

At the moment I believe a lot of the standing around is because we are trying really hard to feed the post. Also we currently don't have a lot of slashing options.

I agree with that, but if I had $1 for every "off ball screen" and rotation I see during a game, at the end I'd have enough for a chicken sandwich. Some games, maybe one off the dollar menu somewhere. It is pretty bad.

This has always been a problem with Rose's offense. Picks, rolls, base line cuts, etc., Rose rarely uses them at all. It's either run 'n gun or a weak half-court offense that consists of feeding the post, passing it out for a 3 pointer, or moving the ball around the horn for a open shot. Moving around the floor off screens, etc. rarley occurs.

You're right on, but I don't know if it's a "problem". It's just the weakness of the system Rose has employed which is hard to stop when it's run right. What happens though is good coaches know how to slow BYU's offense down just enough that BYU doesn't know what to do.

No offense is perfect.

I"ve only watched since about 12 mins left in the 2nd half, but I just saw Sharp dunk off the low dish in traffic. Halelujah! Finally someone with explosion! And an RM at that.

I like the fire that Sharp brings to the table.
