I'm perfectly fine with our perimeter defense. Our opponents are shooting .318 (47-148) from behind the arc against us.

BYU's Strength of Schedule is 303, out of 330 teams...

What else can BYU do?

Here's my list of what else BYU can do.

1. Beat a tough team for starters. If you can't beat the better teams, do your stats matter at all?

2. Play better defense against teams that know how to score. It's not like Wisconsin was unbeatable and we let them play their game.

3. Learn to rotate on zone.

4. If someone has hit 3 threes, don't leave him wide open every time down the court thereafter.

5. Learn to help in man-man defense.

Tall assignment for a team that hasn't been playing together for a large amount of time. Wisconsin exposed a young BYU team that has a lot to work on and BYU showed that they have a lot of promise.

And yet it was a good experience for them. They need some tough games to get better. And it looks like they are improving.

That wasn't the question I was asking. Mars was implying our perimeter defense was only good because of the poor level of competition. That was what led me on my somewhat tongue-in-cheek comments about schedule being the only metric that can be used to evaluate teams.

It seems if you don't beat good teams the perception is you haven't beaten anyone. And if you only beat poor teams you still haven't beaten anyone. So there's no way to prove if you're a good team or not.

Uh... Beat good teams.

Uh... Beat good teams.

But then how good were those teams? Since we know BYU isn't a good team, if you lose to BYU, you probably weren't that good to begin with.

This is getting ridiculous. Wisconsin was a "good" team. If BYU had beat them, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Just win baby. Especially when the team has a ranking next to their name.
