I rescind my Walking Dead recommendation. Read FABLES instead.

I'm in the middle of The Zombie Survival Guide and am shocked at how woefully underprepared we are for the zombie apocalypse.

I thought that was after the Mayan Calendar end date, so I paid not attention to the issue. Error on my part? :bug:

I'm sure this has been posted here before, but it evidently needs to be posted again:

Right?

I find people are also woefully unprepared for Global Warming. And The Rapture.

And the second ice age, the taking over of the world by hyper-intelligent apes, aliens from outer space who want to harvest our resources and murder us all, that giant creature that comes out of the sea and destroys New York (or Tokyo), and those kids who have telekinetic powers and speak in British accents.

Try a used paperback. The story is just as good.

Bought one online. Just thought it was funny the only one in the used book store cost so much.

MUST. MUST READS

Atlas Shrugged. Best book I have ever read.

Boundaries by Dr. Henry Cloud - Also a book that has changed my life so much for the better. EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS BOOK!!! Especially if they are christian.

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance

Entertaining reads:

Second all of the Ender's Game nominees. That entire series is unbelievably good. I recommend all of the "Shadow" followups to Ender's Game (Ender's Shadow, Shadow Puppets, Shadow of the Hegemon, Shadow of the Giant)

Pathfinder, by Orson Scott Card was a very good book. easy to read, and also very kid friendly. I mowed through it, and then became depressed to learn that the sequels haven't been written yet.

Any of the original Bourne books by Robert Ludlum (Identity, Supremacy, Ultimatum).

Harry Potters

The Game of Thrones - fantasy series (by George Martin)

A "must listen" for those of you that listen to Audiobooks.

The bartimaeus Trilogy is very good, and kid friendly.

Any of the Harry Potters are fantastically read by Jim Dale (probably the best narrator out there)

All of the Ender's Game stuff are SUPERBLY done (by Scott Brick and co. Scott Brick is hands down one of the best narrators out there)

I am working my way through Atlas Shrugged right now. It hasn't been a quick read for me, but definitely worth reading.

The original Dracula (1898 version) is actually quite an interesting read. Different writing style, but very good.

The original Frankenstein is very good as well.

That series is a 1-in-100 kind of book when it comes to character-building and character development. A true 3-parter, where the middle part is the downer and the ending novel is the redemption. I highly recommend it... for teenagers and preteens. :)

It's superb. The audiobook by scott brick is very good as well. I actually started out listening to it in audiobook (I happen to be somewhat of an audiophile) and it got so interesting that I went out and bought the book, because it wasn't going fast enough for me, lol.
