Baylor @ BYU

YA needed a timeout there for sure. Baylor played like a legit top 5 team the second half. Carlino is going to have some big games for us. Even though we lost there are some silver linings.

Baylor finished at 51% from the field, 52% from three. Our 33% from three and 60% from the free throw line (12/20) hurt.

We are still missing too many assignment on knock-down shooter. It is one thing with an average to poor shooter gets an open look. But you can't give the other teams best shooters wide open looks.

Leaving shooters wide open makes it a lot easier to shoot 50% from the arc. BYU's guards once again failed to defend the perimeter. Our back court is young and they're still learning. Would think they learned their lesson against Wisconsin, but guess not. That's two losses now due to poor perimeter defense.

All in all it was a good game by the Cougs. Had the ball bounced a different way here or there down the stretch we would have had that game. Was glad we didn't get blown out and even led the game for significant minutes.

I'm more confident then ever that we can beat Gonzaga and St. Mary's on their home courts.

I liked everything about that game except the final score. I also agree that BYU should present a big challenge to St. Marys and Gonzage, both home and away. I look forward to seeing the Cougars in person on January 5, when hopefully we'll be at full strength although Drew Viney and Ashley Hamilton are healing much slower than expected.

We couldn't handle Florida State without them and maybe even with them.

If anyone might refrain from coming to LA for the game for lack of tickets, they are still available. Go to lmulions.com and look for ticket information.

Merry Christmas!
