18 points times 5 players on the court gives +90.

Sac doesn't have any legit big men to pass to. Half the time Jimmer finds someone down low they either miss or get stuffed. I say again the stats are misleading. When he is on the floor the ball actually makes it to more than 2 people.

Tyreke and Thornton are in perpetual "ima get mine" mode and Cousins, the only decent big man, wants out. I can't imagine there is much love in the locker room out there. Just watch the games. Nobody but Jimmer and Isaiah ever give anyone high fives when they sub out. Dysfunction alert!

Mars - What are you talking about? Kings vacating their guard spots for Jimmer?

Tyreke Evans, re-signing Marcus Thronton, bringing in John Salmons... drafting Thomas. All of that = not exactly clearing the way. Clearing the way would have been a sign and trade with Thornton for a good center, and moving Evans to SG. Jimmer has hardly had the way cleared for him. Westphaul didn't even like the Jimmer pick, and wasn't planning on using him for much more than a sideshow. But Jimmer has won him over thus far.

Ya, Cousins isn't a decent big man. He isn't even playing hard. He has the tools, he's just a headcase. If and when he can calm his temper and score, he will be pretty good. He is one or two teams removed from that.

I second Spiff that +/- is a stupid stat. It literally proves nothing.

I guess he is getting the Alex Smith treatment with a new head coach!

And now Westphal is gone....

If they bring in a coach who wont put up with selfish, and stupid play, this team could be whipped into some serious shape, but really, is there a coach that can do that? Isn't Jerry Sloan available?

The only guy even in the NBA on that list is Udrih, and he isn't even getting 10 mins a game for the Bucks. I like Udrih, but he is not a factor. Jimmer would have outplay him in camp anyways.

Daniels is on the Celtics but he was there last year. So unless the King knew they would draft Jimmer and were clearing their roster before he got there.

If the Kings were clearing their roster they wouldn't have resigned Thornton to a such a large contract.

Didn't Beno play extensively for the Kings last year? Because they traded him later the same day they picked up Jimmer.

They actually traded him along with their pick to get John Salmons, and the rights to Jimmer.

So, yes they "went out of their way" to get Jimmer, but I wouldn't really say they made way for him. Like 85% of their salary is tied up at the guard position.

I have watched almost every second of Jimmer this year and in my opinion he is playing very well. He is not hitting his shots right now, but its not because he cant get it over people, or he cant handle NBA players guarding him. They are good shots, he is getting open, they just aren't falling right now. He is by far the best and most willing passer on the team, which isn't saying much considering who the other guards are. And he is getting killed on the pick and roll defensively. He isn't getting through or underneath the picks, just kind of dragging behind his man which makes the big have to hedge for a lot longer than he should have to. This means that his guy and the big man who is helpings guy isn't scoring but they make a pass or two and the defensive rotations can't keep up leading to wide open threes in the corner almost every time. This is not just Jimmers fault but he is putting a lot of pressure on his teammates to help him out. It is tough to defend the pick and roll to begin with but he is not doing it very well at all.

Everybody needs to put their egos on the shelf. Most of the time, the PG (usually Jimmer, when he's in) brings the ball down and passes it to the first guy. That guy holds the ball in triple threat, making a stutter-step move, then either drives or shoots—either way, they're taking the other team on by themself. Most of the shots don't fall, and the drives are often turnovers, blocks, or rebounds by the other team. :sulk:

Some of the best teams in college or the pros are so good because they are a good passing team. They pass the ball around and find the open guy. Jimmer has ways to create his open shot, but he isn't doing that right now. He is trying to gain the teams trust and trying to not be a ball-hog.

I'd love the day he's traded to a good team...think about Dirk Nowitski and Jimmer together!!! :D

Its kind of like watching a junior jazz game after a missed shot, Tyreke, Jimmer, and Thornton all run to whomever got the rebound and beg for the outlet. Its like there is no coaching at all, no assignments, no roles. Westphal must be terrible.

Or along with most everyone being selfish, they're also stupid ;)

Yep it's sad to watch. If Jimmer hands the ball off he doesn't get it back.

I find it ironic that the Kings' new coach is named "Smart."

"JimmerStats" has begun tracking "CHBAs", or "Could-Have-Been-Assists". Jimmer has a lot of those. As I pointed out on my twitter, the typical Kings play is "Jimmer passes to [player ___], [player ___] misses an immediate shot". It's sad. Then the other team throws the ball all the way down the court and makes an easy lay-up while the Kings slowly pretend to jog back to play defense.

At least Jimmer is trying to set up other players. But that 29% 3-point shooting rate needs to improve.

Agreed about his shooting. Needs to go up! But as spiff has repeatedly pointed out, he's still a rookie, and hopefully whoever he is playing for is patient enough to let him develop.

Jimmer finally gets a start and the coach is playing him less minutes than when he came off the bench. WTF is going on? Down by 25 and still nobody goes for rebounds or gets back on D. What a dysfunctional bunch. Jimmer might not be shooting well but at least he's not hitting backboard first like half of Hickson's and Reke's shots. My goodness this team is a travesty.
