I don't know much about the Kings and who they have except for Jimmer. Does this help or hurt Jimmer. I know Westphal was a Jimmer fan.

THis helps Jimmer in the medium to long run, as long as they bring in someone who can bring discipline to this team. Westphaul had lost this team, assuming he ever had it to being the season. I called this move, just didn't think it would happen this quickly.

But rumor has it that Cousins went to the Maloof Bros and said "him or me". NOt sure they capitulated to Cousins completely, and maybe Westphaul was more than happy to leave this ball club, like Jerry Sloan last year.

The new coach may or may not like Jimmer. But the owners do like him. Jimmer may not be killing it every night, but he is coachable and will thrive when everybody is playing by the system/team rules.

AS Billy Sunday once said, "I'd rather have one foot in hell and be headed towards heaven than 100 miles from hell and headed towards it." This team is bouncing along the bottom of the pond. This should serve as a corrective action, but trouble is not over.

I'm sure it depends who they hire.

This. Jimmer's been getting his minutes and shots, so let's hope those don't get cut back, but he would benefit greatly from a team-game where he was running point and there was movement off-ball.

If the Kings hired Sloan, you can bet they just bought themselves a lot more LDS fans.

I highly doubt that Sloan would jump into coaching a team who just chose whiny, selfish players over the coach.

Maybe they should try for Coach Calapari, but I doubt they could afford him! He's quite good at dealing with teenagers with huge ego's lol.

You sure? Why do so many of them try to get away after just one year with him?

When you go in the first round of the draft I don't think you are "trying to get away" you're just ready to move on to the next level, and get millions in the process, which is the goal of everyone playing for UK. If you look at their roster you see that there are more than just freshman. Some take more than a year but the goal is to stay until they make the first round of the draft. This year they may have 6 first rounders like they did year before last. I can't imagine a more challenging coaching job in the country than to take a different group of teenage allstars each year with their egos and hangups and mold them into a team every year. Cousins wanted to get into a fight almost every game. As we've seen the last few years it's not easy to take that many freshmen to a championship but they have certainly been competitive at that level which is all anyone could ask.

i'm going to say good for Jimmer.

he has played ok (even well on some nights) and has made an impact but his FG% is way down and I don't think he's had the impact he wants. At least this way, anyone looking at the situation can blame a bad coach and not jImmer.

In 25:04 minutes of play (6th-most), Jimmer is averaging 9.4 points (4th-most), 1.6 rebounds (9th-most), 2.5 assists (2nd-most, behind Tyreke Evans), 1.8 turnovers (4th-most), 0.6 steals (tied for 5th-most), and 1.3 personal fouls (7th-most).

Shooting 36.7% overall (8th-best on the team, out of 12), and 31.4% from 3 (3rd-best on the team, out of 8, behind Thornton and Greene).

Coach W was encouraging Jimmer to shoot his 30-foot bombs in practices. Not sure if he will get that same support with the new coach.

The real problem is the players. They don't hustle, they have huge egos, they hog the ball, they don't play as a team, they're complainers (especially Cousins—to me, it looks like he's constantly pouting and picked on), etc.

What's good for Jimmer is just time in the NBA. He'll get better as he gains experience.

I just hope he doesn't fall into the luck that John Beck has had. Drafted...new coach...coach fired...new coach...Beck gone...new team...doesn't get a chance to start...traded...new team...gets chance to start...doesn't have a good team around him...who knows what else?

I want Jimmer to succeed so badly, but I don't know with the team he's on, unless they can get a no nonsense guy that can bring the "superstars" together.

Anyone know how the veterans treat Jimmer?

From what I have heard-Cousins likes Jimmer. Thornton is just chucker. Evans is a chucker.

I heard that Evans was the driving force pushing the coach out for telling him to pass the ball.

Last night I was watching jazz/GSW and Harpring and Bollerjack were talking about Sloan returning to coaching. I guess he has been brought up in discussions about Sacramento. We'll see. If Evans thought Westphal was a tyrant, I can't imagine what he's going to do about Sloan. It sounds like Jimmer has a lot of crybaby teammates. But that's pretty normal in the NBA.

So far it looks bad for Jimmer. Tonight Evans, Salmons, and Thronton all played huge minutes (39,39, and 41) and Jimmer was left with table scraps for minutes (14), causing him to get only 2 points on 3 shots, 2 assists, and 1 board. Dang!

Again, as I posted on twitter, the new Kings coach will give Jimmer less minutes, as he plays his starters extensively.

It's too bad that I bought 6ers tickets tomorrow night. Only reason I'm going is to see Jimmer.

Start a Jimmer chant in the stands.
