No way. If OC is back on the team that means he's earned his way on through Bronco.

That, to me, means he's 100% all-in. This should be fun to watch. Can't wait to see him blow up some plays on D.

I'm unimpressed, and uninspired by OC. I hope he can help the team, but my bet is he will have minimal impact and little playing time. Why waste time and effort on a senior who was kicked off the team, and infuriated the coach? He was too slow as a receiver, and will be too slow as a DB.

Then I take it that you do not know of the strength it takes to admit error make amends and keep at it to make right. Too many people do not take responsibility and quit before finishing. OC did not quit did not leave and took responsibility. I for one am most impressed .

You have no idea who he is, or how hard he has worked to get where he is today. He wants to be on the team, he wants to show the players, coaches, fans and his family that he cares and he is a strong young man.

You have no idea why he was removed from the team, you have no idea about the coaches being upset. And in all honesty seem to have no idea about his playing abilities period. He works hard, he plays hard and he cares about this team. He wouldn't be allowed back on the team if he didn't impress or inspire other players or coaches.

He is a very close friend of mine and I wish him all the best this year and cannot wait to see him on the field. He has sat at my dinner table telling me how hard he has worked to get back on the team, to show he is a man. He deserves this as well as everyone's respect. You might not respect him as a player, but respect him for going through what he did to get where he is today.

OC sniffed out the Heaps charade long before anyone else did including the coaches. Wasn't good back then in censoring his comments but no one ever doubted his courage, tenacity and toughness. He is tight with Riley and actually has alot of Riley characteristics in him. Bronco promised to take him under his wings if he met the criteria set forth in his probation. He passed with flying colors and is fully vested in the team. He actually was providing special knowledge and insight to the WR during camp. Don't forget that he also almost returned a punt for a TD vs UT and gave us great field position to score in that game. He is a hard worker and will be an inspiration to the team.

Coincidental that he is reinstated the weekend all the committed and prospective recruits visit the campus. Expect him to chaperone/be the guide for some of the incoming players and solidify their love for the school and what it offers besides football. Great teaching moment opportunity.

IMO, I like OC better than I like BD or BM right now. FWIW.

I would be surprised to see him on defense though.

Finally someone who gets it. OC is an average athlete, nothing more. He is slow and has horrible hands. I'd like to think he could play a good safety though. We know that he likes to hit so hopefully he can become the next Sorenson assuming he has the instincts.

This warms my heart. I don't care how good a player For the defense ONeil turns out to be. I'm happy for him and God bless him. He has shown real character in turning his situation around. He'll get a shot to land a diploma from a prestigious, nationally recognized university and he will be a future advocate for BYU as well.

Amen to the first part. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him on defense. He's certainly not going to come close to taking playing time from Hoff and Apo, and he's always been pretty chippy so I think DB could be a decent fit for him. I predict 1.5 personal fouls for late hits per game, lol!

I'd love to see OC get some slot rotations. We started using him in that capacity some before. HE runs as well as Mathews ah Falslev, but is a bigger kid. If he avoids fumbles, he could be a best in the slot when you consider we have Hoff and Apo outside. Next step for our O is for a slot guy to really take off.

Bs actually ran several slot WR plays during the victory over OK - had a fumble but also showed no fear going over the middle and picking up yards. IMO He is better suited for this position if he wants to play as he is more familiar with the O than D.

I actually find it quite offensive that someone would call OC a DB... oh wait not that kind of DB! You guys meant defensive back. I thought you guys were referring to Heaps thoughts on OC!

BYU lists (and plays) 3 starters at WR. I think #3 is wide open (as well as the back-ups), even though there are a lot of good possibilities.
