BYU will not be in the NCAA Tourney

I can't believe all the doomsday, fair weather fans on this thread. They lost a game! There was no atom bomb that leveled Provo. They didn't molest your little sister. They lost a game , their third game in five days. Tthey lost without Jimmer and Jackson on the guard line. They lost with some inexperienced players, who made some mistakes. They lost because they just plain had a bad game. How many of you guys play your best game every time you step onto the court/field? Holmo doesn't need to fire the entire coaching staff, revoke all the players' scholerships, and start over with new recruiting.



They may or may not get into the tourney. I will still be a BYU basketball fan either way. I hope that a few of you will do the same.

Guy's, BYU lost their best 2 players to graduation, maybe 2 of the top five guards to ever play at BYU (the all time points leader and the all time steals leader), they have 2 planned major contributors sitting in street clothes, they are week at the 3 position as a result (both injured players would be taking time at the 3), at this point in the season, there is still an expectation that BYU will be in the discussion for a tournament bid in a tough conference, and Dave Rose isn't a great coach. One of these statements is false, gee, I wonder which one?

This is the dumbest thread and the dumbest prediction I have ever seen. it's a long way to the NCAA tourney, and nobody can predict who is and who is not going to get in--how dumb. The ESPN guy who predicted this should be fired. Maybe BYU will and maybe they won't make the tourney, but to be predicting that seven weeks before the season is over, is dumb.



I'm betting they do make it. One bad loss to LMU--and BYU is out of the tourney??? Paleeze.

Two bad losses. Utah State and LMU.



Problem with BYU isn't necessarily who we've lost to. Even great teams drop a game or two and have a bad loss. Problem with BYU is so far our best win on the season is an away game against the Hokies.

We get shots at St. Mary's in Provo, Gonzaga home and away, and one or both of them in the WCC Tournament unless we or they lose before that comes. It is thus in our hands, if we win out, we likely end up beating Gonzaga 3 times and St. Mary's twice edging them 2-1 to add to Va. Tech, and that should enable the selection committee to overlook our losses to Wisconsin, Baylor, and St. Mary's easily and USU and LMU as well.



Now it is in our hands - but what are the odds of this team running the rest of the table?



IMHO < 10% chance. But we should pick up a couple of quality wins in those 5 tries. But I fear we will drop another egg on the floor vs an opponent we are supposed to beat.
