If you're holding your breath for Jabari...

Jimmer didn't have a chance. Smart benched Jimmer simply for the reason that the fans wanted to see him play, and he wanted to show that it was his team. A little Tyrone Corbin against the "big lineup" if you will.

Isaiah played okay, but if you look at the #'s, anytime Jimmer had 25-30 mins he had an above average (and sometimes phenomenal) game. Certainly above IT's numbers.

Coach Smart is a tool, and he will be out of the league in one and a half seasons (one more super failed season, + an extra 1/2 season of a record around .300 gets him fired.)

The Kings got the least out of the most talent than any team that I watched play this year.

This is sort of interesting banter, but I was holding my breath for a little more talk about Jabari. I haven't read anything about him since page 1

There's just not much to talk about with Jabari. He's extremely talented. He's very highly recruited. BYU has a small chance. But as more schools are eliminated, BYU remains on the ever shrinking short list. That bodes relatively well.

Jimmer didn't get much of a chance but when I saw him play he couldn't get into the paint consistently against tight, pressure D. The tight D also took away most of his good looks. And of course he is at best an neutral NBA defender.

If Marcus Thornton and Tyreke Evans were either traded or forced to play off the ball more maybe Jimmer would have a better opportunity to win.

Not true. He played point all four years at BYU. He may have seen some time at that spot, but Jimmer was a PG at BYU.

He was Ben Murdock's backup as a freshman. Unless you think the backup point was was fellow freshman Michael Loyd. But then Jimmer played 400 more minutes so that's probably unlikely.

Maybe Jimmer wasn't the point as a sophomore. So we'll go with Lamont Morgan as the point. But then why was Lamont only playing 16 minutes a night if he was the starting point.

Jimmer saw some time at the 2 his first two years, but he was clearly the backup point as a freshman and the starter as a sophomore, junior and senior.

Jimmer primarily came in for Burgess his freshman season. Both Burgess and Murdock averaged 27 min/game. Jimmer logged 18, Loyd 9 and Martineau 5. Loyd and Martineau definitely did not play the 2. It wasn't until the end of his freshman year when Murdock became completely useless at point did Rose start experimenting with Jimmer as PG.

I remember there was a rather lengthy debate about Jimmer's switch to PG. I remember it quite well because we all loved Jimmer at the 2 where he scored most of his points and we worried that moving Jimmer to PG would kill his production given BYU's emphasis on pass-first PGs. I did get my years mixed up, though, and thought the transition came after his sophomore year. I remember the debate because I absolutely did not want to see Jimmer as a PG. I wasn't confident in his handles, but more importantly I didn't want to lose his scoring. I gladly ate crow the next season.

Case in point, Jimmer has experience at the 2. He's has a shoot first mentality. If he were a couple inches taller he'd be a natural at the 2 in the NBA. As such, he has to adjust his game if he wants to start consistently in the NBA; otherwise, he'll be a backup 2 called into games to launch 3s.

As for Jabari...BYU is on his list. It will always be in the back of his mind given his church membership. Given his talent, it's not a bad place to be. Other schools will be completely dismissed while BYU will still remain on the list until the final decision is made.

Jabari is so good, it's got to scare coach Rose to think of the consequences if he came to BYU and for whatever reason didn't pan out.

But it would be unbelievable to have him wear the white and blue.

This seems like Heaps trauma to me. Apples and oranges. #1 qb vs #1 bball recruit in the nation is not only quantitatively different, it's categorically different. There are things to fear as a fan--this isn't one. There are things to fear as a coach and I guarantee you this wouldn't even be on Coach Rose's most distal, far reaching part of his mind.

Maybe it just seems so absolutely unbelieveable that the number one recruit would come to byu let alone an LDS kid is the #1 recruit.

I'm not holding my breath for Jabari, he's athletic enough to do that on his own. I do hope he comes to BYU, though.
