Basketball Prediction Game

I have to take umbrage on a couple things. But first let me state that I love this predition stuff and thank those who help and it's just the competitor in me that is letting this bug me but even if it didn't change I will keep predicting and enjoying the game.



Having said that here are a couple observations which would have given me an addition 4 points from the SDSU game (I haven't bothered to check past games so it may or may not have further impact either way)



1) The question "Who will shoot make more free-throws?" is hard to interpret. If it is scored on makes then my score is right. If it's scored on takes then according to ESPN.com I deserve two more points. Which way are we to read the question?



2) From what source does he/she who enters the stats get their numbers? I picked BYU to win the shot block battle and again, according to ESPN.com, BYU is shown to have 9 while SDSU had 6. I picked BYU and the prediction game shows "tie". What am I missing?...beside my 2 points (said in the voice of the newspaper boy in Better Off Dead! :lol:



Seriously, thanks for all the time consuming work to entertain me and others. Let me know if I'm mistaken and I'll kindly shut my trap!

I double-checked and the game shows "BYU" for having more blocks... :skeptic:

You can change by going to your User Control Panel, Profile, and changing the Prediction Group option. Type in CougarCorner. If you don't have that in there, you are missing out on tons more fun (not really, but at least you can compare your scores to the other people here).

The BYU Basketball Prediction game is back up and running, and this year we are including the exhibition games. Lets see how well we can guess our backup players will do?!



Make sure you get your predictions in early, I suggest entering several games in advance. Remember you can always go back and edit your entries if something changes.



The prediction screen is divided by Months, so don't be surprised if you only see Octobers game when you first go there. I've filled out October and November so far and will be adding the other games soon!

With the absurd number of basketball games, can you set it up so that we can enter a "default" prediction for games we miss? That way if we miss a game, we still get points for that our baseline predictions?

It's still a work in progress. You can save default answers right now, but I haven't yet coded the part for it to use those default answers if you haven't filled in other answers for scoring purposes. so it's still a good idea to go into the next game and actually SAVE the answers.

The default Predictions are now available for use. I've tested them as thoroughly as I can, but there may be a few problems here and there, I'll do my best to clean them up as they occur, but please be patient.



Here's how they work...



Any time you enter results into a game, there will be a checkbox that says "Make this my default prediction" if you check that, you're answers will be recorded for that game, and into your default predictions. Then, everytime you load a future game, it will automatically load those default predictions which you may then change and save. If you save a later game with different numbers, it will not change your default predictions (unless you check that check box again).



If you have entered default predictions, but have not modified them for a specific game and that game comes then your base default answers will be used for that game.



If you change your default answers after a game, the new default answers will not be applied to the passed games, whatever default answers you had in place at the time the game took place will be used (or no answers if you had no defaults set by then).

What you need to do is go to 'User Control Panel' (top left of page) click on 'Profile' and then find the Prediction Group text box and change it to 'CougarCorner' (without the quotes).

It shows that I entered predictions for Fresno State, but it didn't score anything...

The totals are working either. It's only showing the Laval game for everyone, except Hawk, for whom it also shows the BYU-H score.
