Shipley's in!

According to Drew Jay, WR Tanner Shipley will be playing for the blue and white of BYU!!!!!!

Excellent. Taysom will need all the talented receivers the Coug's can get. Gotta put an end to all that QB scrambling and the resulting injuries.

I wonder how much, if at all, Embree's firing factored into his decision.

We have a talented group of WRs coming into the fold: Weichers, Davis, Loutelei and now Shipley. Plenty of targets to throw to. Now all we need is an OL to give the QB time to throw and the pass patten time to develop.

Looking at Shipleys scout profile, it lists him as a RB and safety, so safe to say he will not be a WR for BYU. My money is on safety. He is the right size for it, with good speed. Just need to add 40 lbs.



Otherwise, 5 WR recruits is too many for one class. So odds were that 2 guys get moved. Shipley was easy to see as one getting moved to safety, with the other probably going to corner and being Weichers to corner, or perhaps Shumway to safety as well.

Just a coincidence in pining for gourmet do-nuts in Provo is all.

I'll be honest, I get less and less excited about recruits until they perform on the field. I love guys like Falslev (and even Ridley who makes nice catches all the time) who were never recruited by anybody. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to see great athletes with potential sign to play at BYU, but until they produce, what's the point of even talking about them?
