It's interesting that b o used children to promote taking our freedom while at the same time he backs killing many of them through abortion.

Some people in Iraq and Afghanistan use children as shields as well.

Why can I not get the phrase "hang by a thread" out of my head?

Two interesting facts re: the 2nd Amendment and the actual Civil War:

1) During the Conscription Riots that engulfed NYC after Lincoln put the draft into effect, none other than the New York Times purchased two gatling guns (without a FFL!) which they used, with deadly effect, to prevent rioters from torching their office and presses.

2) Wilbur Storey, editor of the Chicago Times armed himself during the conflict with grenades lest any anti-abolitionist aim their wrath at him for his paper's position. (Likewise no FFL requirement)

Actually the final arbiter is just who has more and better guns, is more willing to use them, and has the better plan of attack. I suppose BM would mention something about execution too.

Thomas Jefferson and James Madison had something to say about nullification if you care to read the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions.

I think about this too.

I could see future historians blaming Bush for being on the wrong side of a massive liberal shift in America. Bush was the most popular president in his first term following 9-11 and sank to arguably the least popular in his second.

I think Obama gets credit for seeing and exploiting this shift to get into power. But I think historians will say that the cost of his power was the longevity of the American system. And the irony would be that Obama ignores and attacks the 47% (Re.Congress and the GOP) just as Romney lost the election for talking about.

Well, today Obama was inaugurated for his 2nd term. He has 1,461 days to weaken the Constitution and promote his Socialist agenda. It's going to be a long 4 years.

And he's got plenty of help in the Congress (Senate), the media and the population at large who no longer understand freedom.

Will Dems try to remove the 2 term limit on the President before his office is up?

Personally, I think so. There have already been some trial balloons floated. I don't think it will go anywhere though. Heck, Al Sharpton has already said he believes Obama deserves to be carved into Mt. Rushmore - that he has earned it. :bug:

Was the two-term limit imposed by a Constitutional amendment? I can't remember. I'll have to look it up.

Just looked it up. It was by amendment (22nd). I don't see how an additional amendment would make it through the amendment process.

All they would need is an executive order, if the gun control crowd is to be believed.
