BYU has none. Guys get dribble penetration any time they want, the zone collapses and leaves a open shooter and lanes for guys to crash boards. Until BYU learns to play at least 30 minutes of man to man without getting murdered, they will continue to struggle against the SMCs of the world, even when SMC is shooting poorly.

No defense, Zero offense in the halfcourt set. They don't run plays, or screens for the ball carrier, nothing.

If they don't get out and run just about anyone can beat this team. Rose has gotten away from transition buckets, and I have no idea why. It is our "punchers chance" against any team we play against.

Transition buckets require rebounds. We rarely get rebounds so no one is leaking out.

Right. Get your big men off of the 3 point line and under the basket.

If they chose not to, then pull them and play someone who will get under and get rebounds.

It seems to be the normal defensive rotation but it is a terrible scheme.

I wish that this thread had some moe hyperbole! I'd really like to see phrases like "No defense" as in none whatsoever, we only go back to inbounds the ball after a made basket... or "Terrible scheme" because we've not won many games, but the ones that we have won were because of our superior athletes... or "rarely get rebouhds" ("it's been three games since our last rebound!")

We're a good team with good guys. We lost two big paerts of our frontcourt this year, and some of our recruits haven't panned out like we had hoped, but step back from the ledge and enjoy the season (what's left of it) We'll lose to the Zags, win two game in the tourney - plus our game to Portland, and win two in the NIT. That'll be 5-3 over the next 8 games, then we can focus on football.
