Harsh ESPN Analysis of Manti Teo

ESPN analyst Mark May rarely pulls punches in his straightforward analysis, and his assessment of former Notre Dame Fighting Irish star LB Manti Te'o on Tuesday was no exception.



May took to Twitter to express his characteristic bold evaluation of Te'o's draft stock, and he vehemently disagrees with any NFL general manager that would spend a first-round pick on Te'o. He feels that the linebacker should be taken in the middle of Round 2 at the earliest.



Mark May: "Any team that wastes a 1st round pick on Manti Teo should fire their GM on draft day."

May'd be singing a different tune if Te'o had gone to Pitt.

He must have thought Te'o played for a mid-major program.

Any linebacker that runs a 4.8 sec 40 times is going to get big questions asked of him.

I heard one analyst (Mayock) wonder if Te'o spent more time training for the interviews/press conferences than the actual combine events. Could make sense if he does much better at the ND pro-day.

Spent a whole day on caller ID I hear.....

Te'o's in a pretty good place mentally/emotionally right now. He just dismisses the criticisms of others as their own perceptions/imaginations, not necessarily anything rooted in reality.



Plus, that 40 time was measured digitally, and we ALL know how trustworthy that digital stuff is.

Just so you know, Manti's 40-time got adjusted by Whit's staff to a 4.6.
