Am I off-base in wanting to go down to the district transportation department and ask that the bus stop be moved?

I have two kids on the bus (8 & 6) and there are about 12 other children who are literally lining up on the lawn of a registered sex offender, while they wait for the bus.

He's registered for possession, production and distribution of child pornography.

seems reasonable enough.

I would. I know a lot of times they set the bus stop location without doing much (or any) research about the actual location. In our neighborhood they put the bus stop so that it stopped at the one vacant lot on the street and consequently the only area that didn't have a sidewalk in, so the kids were standing in the mud waiting for the bus to arrive. Parents called in and they moved the stop.

I certainly wouldn't want my children have to stand in front of the home of a child abuser to go to school, that's just not safe.

I am surprised they are oblivious to this. I would sure think a call would rectify the situation.

Update:

Went to the offices. I had printed off a copy of the district's official bus stop location, highlighted the RSO's house and how the kids were waiting for the bus on his front lawn.

Note will go home with kids on Monday and a new stop further away will begin on Tuesday.
