I've modified the standard Player Efficiency Rating to tweak it to my preferences. I use: Pts - (FGA-FGM) - (FTA-FTM) + (Reb * .75) + (Ast *2) + (Blk *1.5) + (Stl *2) - (TO *2). Here are the results from the Weber St. game. Total PER - PER/Min.

Matt Carlino 26.50 0.74

Kyle Collinsworth 24.00 0.65

Tyler Haws 22.75 0.63

Eric Mika 15.25 0.64

Nate Austin 12.50 0.48

Anson Winder 6.00 0.35

Skyler Halford 1.00 0.20

Josh Sharp 0.50 0.13

Luke Worthington -0.25 -0.03

Frank Bartley IV -2.00 -0.40

Stats only tell part of the game, but I didn't realize how good a game Collinsworth had. I'll see if I can do this for every game.

I like this system but it doesn't really tell you the story about how Mika got worked by Webers big man or how efficient guys like Halford are without the ball in their hands/ playing help defense etc.

No doubt KC was efficient though; as an opposing coach though it'd be easy to prepare for him. "Don't take pass or dribble fakes, give him 5 feet plus at the perimeter and beg him to shoot outside... Do not let him go to the hole and force him insider... no baseline drives."

On the same note: I don't know how you prepare for Haws other than deny and manhandle him, which most coaches are doing now but arguably should be harder to do with the new handchecking and holding rules.

Cool, I would think that assists and turnovers shouldn't be weighed equally. You want a 2 to 1 ratio there. Also, I think it is way harder to get a block than an assist. Also, turnovers are more likely to happen in our offense that is up and down the court, so I think those should be cushioned a little bit, because the coaching staff treats them a little differently than others would.
