Hmmm...perhaps time to revisit this thread.

Buzz Light Years ahead....Bud Lightyears.......Bud Light Beers ahead. Yeah. That.

We are Buzz Light Beers ahead of football in basketball.

Just kidding of course. But that was a sobering game today. I expected a tough game. WCC is improved a bit. I did not expect this.

Rose will figure it out. I still see byu dancing by the end of the year (which will put it ahead of losing to the 6th place Pac12 team in a losers bowl).

Unlike byuFB we have the talent and the coaching smarts to turn the season into a positive. BBall is young, and it shows. That will change more for the better as we get deeper into the season (or at least it should). It is cause for alarm, but I dont see the ship going down yet.

The ship has not completely sunk yet. It could, but it has not.

Waxing optimistic again, as I did a month ago, and assuming that BYU limps into the ballroom to dance, and goes its typical 1 and out to a 7 seed, is that really any better than losing to a 6th place PAC 12 team that was only beaten by the Top 4 PAC 12 teams with 3 of those being on the road? Splitting hairs really. And 1 and done in the Dance has become quite a stretch goal, now.

There's a better chance BYU doesn't get invited to the NIT than BYU going to the Tourney. BYU now has to win the WCC conference tournament to get in and I really don't see that happening.

There is still a lot of season left to figure this out. I think we win the tourney and go to the NCAA. There is too much talent on this team not to. They are just young and figuring things out. It will pass and they will be dominant.

How about the experience of watching each programs' version of GFGH. Both suck at it and it decimates their ability to play effective defense. But I'd say that when things are going well thought that football's version of quickly eating up chunks and scoring TD's--a very rare occurrence--is more exciting.

This is a joke right?

Nope. They will go dancing. They are too talented not to. I think they are young and need to learn each other's tendencies. I think rose needs to learn more about them too to be able to use them better.

Sometimes I wonder if this is the prevailing attitude of both the football and basketball team. What happened to the scrappy, get it done at all cost type players that BYU used to field in both sports? Seems the basketball team and the football team don't respond well to a few bad bounces. Entitled? Soft? I'm not sure what it is, but I could go for a little more fire in the eyes type players vs woe is me.

This certainly has been a prevailing attitude with many vocal fans. Back in Jimmer era Blue is once guaranteed 31 wins when it was mathematically impossible.

This team has some very good talent. It also has some glaring weaknesses in outside shooting and free throw shooting and defense and a lack of depth inside. We do not have a true PG. We have a ton of 2 that do not shoot or defend well.

Anyone hungry for some crow?

Outch! Way to not lose faith, Blue.

Certainly had my fair share of crow when it came to KC.

Yep, Rose did a great job of changing his game plan from GFGH and changing his rotations to get the most out of this team. Tasty, deep-fried crow.

I predicted 25 Wins and a Dance Ticket right after the Stanford game. If I had looked at the away games on the schedule and had any idea how improved the lower 2/3 of WCC would be, I would have predicted 23 wins and a dance ticket. I did predict 1 and done at the dance - I hope they prove me wrong there and get 2 more wins and hit 25. I fear 25 is not in the cards, but the Road Win at Stanford showed me this was a tournament team - just not a deep run tournament team.
