A mediocre Alabama team is going to beat a PISS POOR Texas team, further propagating the LIE that the SEC is head-and-shoulders above all else in college football, and UT-Austin isn't even the best team IN THEIR STATE! Meanwhile, TCU will beat the CRAP out of whatever sap they end up playing, and TCU will get their pat on the head and that'll be it. AGAIN. I'm officially SICK of College Football.

Wow, Texas nearly blew the game by nearly running out the clock.

What a game.

Too bad for TCU. They deserve a shot at the title this year.

If Nebraska had even 1 good player on offense, they win this game by 10. And whoever that kicker is that booted it out of bounds with 1:50 remaining should be thrown off the team immediately. What a choke job.

I'm not sure TCU and BSU aren't the two best teams in the country. Maybe they should be the ones playing for the championship. Alabama isn't great, Texas isn't that good either. Cincinnati would lose to either TCU or BSU. Why can't TCU and BSU be the best teams in the country?

I heard their kicker is related to Mitch Payne.

Payne has really stepped up his game lately. We definitely didn't lose any games because of him.

Can't say the same for Nebraska's kicker though.

What I don't understand is why they don't have the kid who just hit the clutch long range field goal kick off. ESPECIALLY in a situation you need a little accuracy.

BTW, hilarious Colombia comment.

One horrible scenario I saw was TCU vs BSU in the Fiesta Bowl. I hope that does not happen.

Seriously, if that happened, you know the Fiesta bowl was forced into it by the BCS and the other bowls. BSU and TCU are the two with the smallest followings so no bowl in their right mind, especially with the order of picks they have, would take the two worst teams speaking purely in terms of business sense.

Some tool on ESPN said that the Fiesta Bowl likes to go Maverick and might just pick the BSU/TCU matchup as it would be the first bowl other than the NCG matching up undefeated opponents. I just don't see how that is enough reason for the Fiesta to take such a huge hit financially, especially when everyone in the country considers those teams as second-tier regardless of whether they are undefeated or not.

Watching that Nebraska team throw away the win felt like watching a wayward child make poor decisions in life. So much potential for the huge upset, but too many mistakes to win. As much as it pained me to watch, there was easily 1 second left on the clock and the refs got it right in the replay. I laughed and laughed when time expired and could imagine what McCoy was thinking.

Who kicks off out of bounds with the game on the line?

Oh, wait...

That kick out of bounds had me screaming, especially when I saw that it wasn't the same kicker who had just given them the lead. I mean, maybe he can't kick it as far, but it's obvious he can at least kick it straight. I knew when that happened that Texas was going to win.

They did make the right call on the one second being left, it does make you wonder though what the hell McCoy was thinking casually running around in the backfield with so little time left.

I loved the FOX sports thing on this, WOW blasted.

"The voters should do what the Big 12 game officials didn't have the guts to do.

That is, put Texas Christian (or Cincinnati, for that matter) into the BCS national championship game.

It's too bad it won't happen. The referees have an excuse: They work for the Big 12 Conference, which desperately needed Texas to avoid an upset by Nebraska."

WOW! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE hearing conspiracy theories about refereeing (because I'm glad whenever it's not just me!), but this DOES sound like a bit of Sour Grapes from Fox for losing their BCS Cash Cow to the ESPN/ABC machine.

And to be fair to the Big 12, the referees were lucky enough that on the last drive, Nebraska shot themselves in the foot so bad with the kick OB and the obvious horse collar, that they didn't HAVE to take it away from them. I have no doubts, however, that in absence of those two bone-headed mistakes, the refs WOULD HAVE. Turns out, all they had to do was call the 1 second left correctly. Rest is history.

I'm still wondering about 2 pi calls that were very questionable. Of course both went Texas' way.

Final BCS rankings are out and it wouldn't have mattered. Cincinnati would be playing Alabama had Nebraska held on to win. The coaches in the MWC are spineless. There should be three 1st place votes for TCU. Let everyone be upset about it. Cincinnati had one first place vote and you won't hear a word about it.
