Jimmer is #4 in assists all-time (#6 in assists per game). He is also #4 in steals all-time (#12 in steals per game). I don't think we'll see Tyler in the top 10 of any statistical category besides points.

It's interesting the career arc Jimmer and Jax took. Jimmer actually had 20 more steals after their sophomore seasons. But after their sophomore seasons, Jimmer became the scorer and Jax the defender. Coach Rose recognized their talents and used both to the best of their abilities to create one of the best BYU teams ever.

This year's team doesn't play defense. We're allowing roughly 13 more points a game. We got lucky Sat with SMC in a slump because they got some great 3 point looks.

I will say Jimmer played better defense then Haws. Jimmer at the least could play man.

I would not classify that game as luck..BYU played much better def after about 8-10min into that game..

Agreed, BYU earned that win against SMC, especially with their defense.

I think we got a bit lucky too. Had SMC shot anywhere near their normal percentage from the arc, it would have been a completely different game. They got a lot of open looks. Because they were shooting so bad we could afford to double Waldow.

I haven't looked up all their players 3 pt %. We where giving Holt a few other players semi-clean looks. I think we were selectively rotationing to the best shooters.

Just as a reference, SMC was #3 in the country in 3-point % before their last two games.

Before their last two games, SMC had three players shooting well above 40% from the three.

Moral of the story, we better play the best perimeter defense we've played all season to beat SMC on the road next week. We won't be able to double Waldow.

I don't have exact numbers, but it seemed we didn't double Waldo all that often. Maybe 20% of the time did we double? They had Open threes sometimes, but we limited them and it seemed more often than open threes they had rushed shots late in the shot clock. What I think bodes well for us for the next matchup is our big guys somehow got in their heads. Waldo had a great game, yet he left frustrated. Jackson with his elbow was obviously frustrated. Their other bigs got eaten up by Mika, and to some extent by Austen and even worthington. When worthington is able to play solidly against you, that has to eat at your confidence.

It will be different at thedigits It. They will be more confident. Our confidence Wil slip. How much? That is a tough question.

We have 3 games that should extend and build our confidence and momentum. That will be a 5 game roll we will be on.

Hopefully we can retain enough momentum and confidence to weather the storm in Moraga.

Home Court is worth double digits in basketball.

Look at the swings in results vs LMU and Pepperdine.
