I don't see this team as being at all dangerous to any team in the top 40-50. Considering if we were to make it to the tournament, we'd be at best a 12 seed, there's no team we could possible play that would have anything to worry about from BYU.

Sincerely,

Texas and Stanford.

Sincerely,

November - When surprises grow on trees due to lack of film

Sincerely,

2013- Which gave all the film in the world necessary to know BYU's tendancies and players.

Well, they could have seen Haws - starter, Carlino - starter who became a reserve, , Austin - starter, Sharp - reserve who did not play much early, and Winder - reserve,, but might not have gotten the full picture and the torrid pace of this team early in the season.

Sincerely

Kyle Collinsworth - starter

Skyler Halford - reserve who became a starter

Eric Mika - starter

Frank Bartley, Jr. - reserve who got a lot of minutes early

Luke Worthington - ok. He did not surprise anyone early.

Ha ha. I'll concede the "sincerely". But seriously Stanford had enough film to know that BYU is a run and gun team, and that night BYU just ran stanford out of the gym. poorly prepared team, but a talented poorly prepared team.

I'm still saying that BYU could cause some real damage in the tournament if they make it.

I wouldn't consider this team dangerous based on results against the likes of Utah, LMU, Pepperdine, and Portland. However, if this team were to be invited to The Dance, and depending on the match-up, I could see this team pulling a 1st round surprise based on performance against the likes of Texas, St. Mary's, Wichita St., Iowa St., and Oregon. Go Cougars!

You forgot Stanford.

And about 14 other wins as well. Thanks

Stafford was getting some mention by National experts as recently as 2 weeks ago as being a key win for BYU as their stock was rising. And we did win. And it was a surprise. And it was on the road. True road game. More worthy of note than the other 14.

Bib, I like your passion about BYU athletics and your many, many contributions to this forum. Condescending (even if that is not your intent) comments/corrections on one's comments/opinions such as "You forgot Stanford" aren't solicited nor warranted. For the sake of brevity, I sometimes use certain terms or phrases such as "the likes of" which one could infer in this instance that Stanford is one of those teams even though they weren't specifically mentioned by name. I know, I should have said "...and others." Thanks again for your help

It was not intended as condescending. It was intended to add support to the point you were trying to make. Sorry you took it that way.

Thanks :)

Still going to go with no on this one. Maybe if we play at home, but no one has to worry about playing us at home anymore this season. Gonzaga has already wrapped up the conf championship.

Maybe we get some NIT games at home.

I think the fact that this team obviously plays up and down to its competition means it is always a threat. But until they take defense seriously I cannot fully believe. Playing Winder at the top of the zone is a good start though.

Good things happened tonight when BYU was taking it to the rim and when Winder was playing D. Great game.

If you consider a run in the NIT dangerous, then Yes. If a team gets a long tie to scout and prep, less so. Wich makes a run in nit very possible.

I love wat Rose is doing with coaching and rotations. It's Aiken him almos all year to pull KC at end of close game-- among may other great moves.

I just found out that we won. Wow, great job. I have to watch the replay now. I went to the temple yesterday then a Public Affair meeting with Elder Risenmay then High Council then home by 11:30. Each trip was a hour long. Long day but all good. Today I go to Portland, a 3 hour drive and home tomorrow. I plan on sqeezing in the temple somehow. Hope I make it home for the Portland game.

Fox Sports seems to think we can be dangerous. I still think it's our game to win against anybody who doesn't have a great big man that can put our whole rotation on the bench. And if we get a team where Mika is able to get easy buckets then we can make noise.

Like Texas? I'm still scratching my head about that win, it should never have happened. Their inside guys were huge and should have dominated us into a 15 point rout. Glad we beat them.

I agree. Ridley or whatever that fatty's name is owned in every single way that game. I honestly don't know how we got that W, but I think it's safe to say that is not the kind of matchup we need in the tourney.

Whole time I was watching that Texas game I couldn't believe we were winning. We looked like the worse team on the court. Even the ESPN highlights of that game were all about Texas - you'd have thought they won.
