For fans who thought Mika would be better than Davies now

Yes it was brilliant. Ad rather than having Mika have to battle their best big--which was clearly their strategy with how often early they went inside.

Rosé is really thinking out of the box and its working for now. Now, we'll see how well he can do with in game adjustments. But he gets an A grad last night. If for no other reason, for getting KC out of the game late when FTs mattered. Huge.

And there wasn't exactly home cooking with the refs last night. Foul count in the first half was 12 on BYU 9 on Zags. And the little man ref who called the foul on tht sweet block by Austin--who called it from practically half court, really ticked me off. Was nt thrilled with reffing, some missed calls in BYUs favor in second half also, but still better than the pathetically reffed up Pacific game.

Mika did disappear for a while on the 2nd half, but it seemed that he had a resurgence at critical moments late. It was a brilliant move. I do wonder why that was not done much earlier in the season, but very smart. Bringing Carlino off the bench - smart. Noticing that Winder was ready - start to set defensive tone early - smart. Using all of his bigs to spread fouls and develop Worthington - smart. If he anticipated Zags taking out Haws and KC and knew Winder could exploit. Brilliant. Sad considering posts a week ago were calling for him to move on.



I love pleasant surprises. This was the only WCC Home game I had doubts about back in November.
