I wonder if this is a sign of things to come from the BcS: Don't schedule the good non-AQ teams (as shown in this years BcS) and then when BYU/TCU/Boise/Utes go undefeated point to their weak schedule...which they can't conveniently strengthen because the good BcS conference schools won't schedule them...bastardos.

You must not be very old because this has been happening for at least the last 25 years, it all started before BYU's NC in '84.

Yup, I'm actually just a baby:

Obviously there are some teams that still do tho (Oklahoma, Oregon, Oklahoma State, Clemson, and Texas Tech all lost to non-AQ teams this year early and it really hurt them), and I was wondering how much worse it would get (Stoops admitted after the BYU game it was a mistake). It was pretty much only BYU back in the day, but now it's BYU, Utah, TCU, Boise and Houston...it can get a lot worse than it is now.

Let's recap.

ASU dropped a home and home with BYU that was to start in 2009.

UW dropped the back end of a 4 year home and home with BYU. The series now ends in 2010 with UW coming to Provo on opening day. The 2011 and 2012 games were axed.

PAC10 schools who used to schedule BYU will seemingly not anymore. BYU is now looking east to get games. So is Utah, who added Pitt and Iowa State because the PAC10 does not want to play in Provo or SLC. TCU, though, is having success getting some games. But not in the west, but in the midwest with Big 12 teams and ACC teams. I think we are going to have to look at the Big 12, Big 10, ACC and Big East for our OOC games, because the PAC10 does not want us because they lose in Provo the last 5 years, and often lose at their place too.

By the way, I did not mention the SEC because they will not schedule us unless we do a 2 for 1. Plus, most those teams do not travel west to play--ever, and some like Florida, never leave their own state for OOC games. I would love to see us play Vandy, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Miss State, etc., but they will not want any part of us. The SEC has the real cartel. They control the market by controlling perception. They never play tough OOC games. But when they do, they often lose. Even their bowl matchups are calculated. They never play PAC10 teams, or and rarely Big 12.
