Our schedule is such that I don't think it will matter who the QB is for what I consider 8 lock wins or our 2 certain losses. The only games in question will be the UW and Utah games. At this second, I still think Heaps is the better option, mostly because he's not 5-10 and he can throw well. After spring, I think he'll be the guy for sure. If it's not going to effect our schedule too much, I say start with Heaps to get him D1 experience and get him ready for 2011-2013.

Certain losses

@ TCU

@ FSU

Loss more likely than not

@ Utah

Don't know

Washington

Wins: 8

@USU

@AFA

@CSU

UNM

Wyo

UNLV

SDSU

@USU

We play USU twice? :bug: :bug:

You are missing Neveda, and I would put them in the Don't know spot. Off the top of my head, they are returning a good portion of their offense, and since it is run based, it will really challenge our new front seven.

My bad. Fixed. We defend the run fine. Nevada is a lock.

This is the team that ND SHUT OUT! and did something that only Colorado and Weber State could accomplish-lose to CSU.

9 wins with true freshman qb (even the #1 recruit in the country) would be a huge accomplishment and something no other MWC team could do.

If Utah wins their bowl game, they do it this year with a true freshman. Of course, the Utah defense might be better than ours too. But next year, I expect us to be improved. Next year, we have to win with ball control and defense. It is going to be a different year for BYU. I expect 8-4 with a Poinsettia Bowl visit.

Wynn is 2-2 as the starter. Cain was the starter in the other 8 games (7-1).

Being a homer 8) , I give us a better chance than most for a 10 win. First, I think that the D will be improved. The D-line is a concern, but we do have some very good depth to draw from. We have a better secondary this year than in recent memory, with lots of returning talent. I think we have some instant impact players coming in, especially @ linebacker.

Second, the offense, even if Unga leaves, has a lot of returning talent, plus, there is some serious talent coming. I really think that Heaps needs to RS for his own future, but Nelson and Lark will both be ready to contribute well next year.

Third, although I don't see us breating TCU (though I don't discount the possibility), I think we play FSU MUCH better next year. A victory there would not surprise me at all.

My favorite scenario is Lark starting at QB with Nelson rotating in at RB and taking some direct snaps, thus becoming the QB, with both rushing and passing plays available. That might be the best way to utilize the combo of the two player's talents, while providing plenty of confusion for the opposing D.

So, my opinion is that the best chance at a 10 win season is with Lark @ QB, and I agree that if in fact it happens, that it ensures Bronco's place in BYU history.

True, but after seeing the 2 play, I think Wynn would be 7-1 in those games as well. But my point is, Utah has that type of talent as well, and so does TCU. They have earned that respect the last few years. We are not the only team that could do it in the MWC.

I predict a ton of controversy, 6-6 regular season at best with 5-7 equally likely. Nelson will get injured, so we better hope Heaps can do it because Lark and Munns will only see the field if Heaps also gets injured.

That is how I see it playing out. I missed this post earlier, so sorry for the delay.

It's easy to predict now.... :roll:

I predict we'll invent the wheel and all the dinosaurs will die off.
