BCS Inclusion is in Reach with Boise State

I think TCU gets the invite before BYU does right now. Even in the North. They could put OKState up north and TCU in south. More natural fit, and that would stink for the MWC. We would be forced to add Boise State then, just to look better for BCS inclusion. I hope the Big 10 does no poach at Big 12 team. I do not like that scenario at all.

There's no new market, and therefore very little new money, from TCU. BYU has a national following, a decent size market, and travels well. Remember, they're not looking for the best team at the moment, they're looking for a respectable program that will bring in the CASH!

Exactly! Plus TCU adds another Texas school to a conference where the Big 12 North schools really hate the domination of the conference from Texas. BYU brings in a huge following and a new market. Plus BYU has large numbers of fans all over the Big 12 (as seen by the huge BYU crowds for TCU games) and would likely have pretty good numbers for fans at conference road games.

All of these arguments for why the Big XII would pick BYU over TCU remind me of the arguments I read a few weeks ago on an SJSU board where posters were convinced that a MWC expansion would add SJSU over Fresno State.
