Alright WACoug, perhaps I spoke too soon in defense of Sark. Doing some "research", here are some things I discovered:
-Han Olsen supposedly claimed on air (hopefully in jest) that Sark lived with a girlfriend while attending BYU.http://www.cougarboard.com/noframes/message.html?id=4645910
-Sark claimed that had he played football at Washington and not BYU he may have got a chance to play in the NFL. This was perhaps nothing more than an attempt to help sway the mind of Jake Heaps.http://www.cougarboard.com/noframes/message.html?id=4648047
-Sark, like Kessman, now drinks (GASP) iced coffee! He has already had numerous recruiting violations at UW. And he won this year partially by starting kids that Willingham had benched for getting in trouble with the law.http://articles.latimes.com/2009/sep/15/sports/sp-sarkisian15
Sark to the Heaps: "I hate BYU. They cost me a shot at the NFL.
Again, if he doesn't have bad feelings, he is a liar.
Steve and Kelly Heaps, Jake's parents, are a high end custom home builder and interior decorator, respectively. Before and during the recruitment of Jake they were doing well and getting several large jobs. On a radio interview someone, I forget who, made a reference to them thinking about where they want to live and work. The morning after Jake's commitment to BYU they had emails waiting in their inbox canceling jobs. They have been been black balled in the area. Now, whether Sark was directly complicit in this is up for debate. The Heaps are currently strongly considering relocating permanently. As Kelly said recently, quoting as well as I can remember, "It is very telling that a kid who grew up dreaming of being a Husky is going to BYU."
