Rank the 2015 Season

Here we are! One game left to pick. This time we are picking the MOST difficult game.



My vote for this game is UCLA. I think they will be the best team we face all year.



Here's how we stand so far:

3. vs Boise St (#15, 12-2) (84%)

4. @ Nebraska (#28, 9-4) (70%)

5. vs Cincinnati (9-4) (70%)

6. @ Utah St (#32, 10-4) (57%)

7. @ Michigan (5-7) (50%)

8. vs East Carolina (9-4) (55%)

9. vs Fresno St (6-8) (87%)

10. at San Jose St (3-9) (76%)

11. vs UConn (2-10) (83%)

12. vs Wagner (7-4) (95%)

I did the same thing, voted for Missouri as the less difficult game. UCLA is home, Missouri is "neutral" only difference, both are really good teams and are likely losses.

I went for Mizzou on purpose; they return their QB, who has lead them to the SEC championship before and will be further honed against SEC defenses all season before facing us. UCLA is looking at starting a freshman, and gets broken in against UVA and UNLV before facing us. If we're going to win one of these, I think it's going to be UCLA. Both will be tough, uphill battles, though.

Beating # 1 or 2 on the list is a real possibility.

I can't remember if I posted the final standings so here it was. I moved the votes that people meant for UCLA by "incorrectly" voting for Missouri into this tabulation.

Being two weeks into the season, here's how I see it so far --



Tougher than anticipated: Cincy, Michigan, ECU



Easier than anticipated: Utah St, San Jose St, Mizzou



The rest seem about what we anticipated.

Cincy and ECU seem much worse to me than anticipated. Michigan lost to Utah (mediocre?) and crushed Oregon State (terrible?). I don't think they're as good as Nebraska.

I chose UCLA. The Cougs are undefeated (at this point) - and - UCLA is undefeated too. Both teams have Freshman QB's. And ..... it's being played in the stinkin' Rose Bowl on national TV for goodness sakes! The stage does not get much bigger.

Michigan seems to have learned a lot from their first game and righted the ship pretty quickly. Probably more like our 5th-toughest game.



ECU seems similar, having won a close game against a lousy opponent to start, but then taking Florida (who, granted, may not be great this year) to the wire in game two.



Cincy did lose to Temple, but it's a Temple team that beat up on Penn St. Still, not sure what I was drinking or smoking (or both) when I put them as tougher than anticipated, they should be in the "about where we thought they'd be" category.

Our first 4 games look to be our toughest 4 games to me at this point. I'm not even sure what happened to Mizzou.

The offseason was apparently very bad for them. They look awful.



BTW, anyone headed out to that game? I'm really tempted to go the more likely a win is (I know, I know) and I'd love to try some Kansas City BBQ.
