Yes. I am hoping that the team was just getting to a slow start and is now finding both focus and identity, as well as a better substitution pattern.

The only players on this year's team that played last year are Collinsworth, Fischer, Kaufusi and Toolson. So really, only two players who were key to last season. The other 9 or 10 guys didn't play last year other than a just a couple of games early in the season for Austin. That is an EXTREME amount of turnover from the previous season. There is probably no other team in the country that changed that much. It just takes a few games for a bunch of players to come together, and I don't think most fans appreciate that very much. For the next several years we won't be seeing that much change year to year now.

Collinsworth is back, but he's had to learn how to play with a completely different team this year with a very different makeup. It should be encouraging to us that we seem to have figured things out a lot better against a pretty decent Belmont team. That was a great game for the development of the team because I think confidence in each other and players figuring out their roles finally came together. I think we'll start to see some exciting play now.

What about Kentucky? Don't they pretty much reload they're entire roster every year? This may be a bit exaggerated but they tend to send like 8 guys to the NBA every year!!

Here is how the players performed:

Two players with awesome games! Here is how they look on the season so far:

After two rough games to start the season Emery has really picked it up in the last three! And KC is off to an amazing start! It's only 5 games into the season, but here's how the best player from past seasons has performed for comparison:

On one hand, having so much talent that your backups get drafted kind of nullifies the need for team chemistry and development, but on the other, that year-over-year turnover is probably why they've only won one championship with Calipari despite having stupid levels of talent

Interesting that Tyler Haws was never the "best" player on his teams.

I looked at Kentucky's turnover from last year: 7 players left for the NBA draft and 3 graduated. So they had three very experienced guys playing with 7 NBA caliber guys. Makes you wonder how good a coach they really have out there if they can't win at least every other year with teams stacked like that.

Yeah, here is how Haws performed:

2014-2015: 19.73 - second best (KC)

2013-2014: 17.97 - second best (KC)

2012-2013: 18.90 - second best (Brandon Davies)

2009-2010: 12.86 - third best (Jimmer + Jackson Emery)

Looking at this reminds me how good of a player Jackson Emery was. He was more than just a defensive specialist. In 2009-2010 he made more 3s than Jimmer and also had a good Ast /TO ratio and had a PER ave of 19.59.

Kentucky has had lots of seasons where they take some time to get used to each other before finishing strong. But yeah, teams with lots of ones and dones (which outside of Kentucky is almost no one) can relate to what BYU is doing this year with turnover.

For sure! Jackson was a stud and so complimentary to Jimmer. MJ and Pippen. Jimmer and Jackson.

The other reality folks need to realize, is that notwithstanding KC's weaknesses (bc Jimmer had his as well) is that we are looking at a once in a generation type player in KC. His stats aren't as glitzy as Jimmers scoring, but Then again neither did Magic set the NBA scoring record. But was one of the all time greats at MSU and w Lakers and top ten or twenty all time w NBA. KC will have to get entered into one of the all time greats (assuming he doesn't get injured) in BYU history. Hall of FAmer of BYU BBall and BYU sports HoF. Maybe PoY in conference or Co with Wiltjer. Probably isn't team or 2nd All-American.
