I'm not sure how I feel about him contacting a Hawaii player while he is on a mission as that is supposed to be against the rules--but he was doing it at Oregon State before doing it now at BYU.

Hawaii coach got fired and no one was responding to him. He gets home mid May and was getting antsy. He probably reached out to KS.

Mack Richards signed a scholarship agreement with former Hawaii coach Norm Chow...That agreement expired after one year, essentially making Richards...eligible for recruitment.

Sitake got permission from Hawaii before making any contact with Mack or his family.

I don't care how someone is contacted as long as it isn't against the rules.

Yes, to an extent. 6'1", 195, runs a 4.47 forty, averaged 16 per catch his senior year, 1st team all state, DesNews ranked him the #3 impact player in the state in 2013.



He didn't get a lot of attention because he was a late bloomer--blew up his junior year, but was on no radar at all prior to that season. He was also named 1st team in the Vegas 7-on-7 tournament, so he's performed at a high level against out-of-state talent as well. It's just to be seen if he can sustain those two years of production.



...and FWIW, Utah had been offering him a scholarship off his mission as well, so that makes exactly two scholarship offers other than BYU.

The terms they use in teh DNews story I linked are interesting--he signed a "scholarship agreement" that was "good for one year" at Hawaii. It doesn't say he signed a LOI. So if he isn't under agreement for anyone currently, he is available to be contacted. It sounds like the kind of thing Utah does with their guys too--they don't actually sign a LOI. There must be some kind of nuance to a LOI vs. scholarship agreement.
