Fischer was 6-14 and 3-8 from 3. Neither was shooting all that well.

If I'm Rose I'm kicking myself for not having recruited any decent bigs over the last 6 years.

Not over the last 6 years, but 6 years ago. There are some good bigs on missions right now. But when you have Austin on the court - you're playing 4 v 5. But when you have Kaufusi on the court he just isn't consistent enough to be counted on. And when you throw it in to Davis he's just as likely to turn it over, throw up a highly contested shot between three defenders as he is to score.

And let's be honest. Even if the refs had called a foul on KC at the end, he still would have had to make BOTH free throws. He was 5-8 tonight and shooting 65% on the season.

Emery was 1-8 in the second half. Fischer was 4-7. Hmmm...

I'm ok with those looks by Emery. They were open looks.

I concur. Kyle seems to be able to find the open man and generally handles the ball when passing from underneath the basket. Should go with your bread and butter when game is on the line (i.e. KC and Fisher).

Which is exactly why it was so smart to just wrap KC up. Worst case scenario (for gonzaga), he gets fouled and has to hit 2 FTs. Best case scenario played out for zags. Have him inbound the ball or sit on the bench for those 3.5 seconds.

How'd we stay that close? Our shooting was horrible and yet we had chances to tie or win at the end. They were makeable shots. We just didn't make them....

P.S. kudos to the Zags and may this series go on for a long time. The games are close and the competition fierce and the excitement real. And I actually have respect for them

It is frustrating to lose but we HAVE to win the WCC Tourney either way to get in The big dance and it is nearly impossible to beat someone three times in a season.I feel pretty good about our chances going forward.

All things considered, if we had to lose to the zags one of these times I'd rather it be during the regular season and not the WCC. I do think it helps us going forward.

We lost a hard fought game. Gonzaga is a good team. The effort was definitely there. Let's beat them in the conference tourney! My one beef was that Emery kept driving to the hoop into that 7 footer. The guy didn't even have to jump to block his shot and yet he tried again and again to take him on.

I have no problem with the Emery drives. It was the reason BYU beat the zags away, they got sabonis in foul trouble. Likely it was part of the plan to try and get him on the bench as much as possible. Didn't work out quite as well this time. Definitely a good strategy though.
