Prior to the selection of BYU by the LV Bowl, I read that the Poinsettia Bowl payout was $500,000 and that it would increase to $750,000 for 2010.

I so badly wish the MWC could get the Holiday Bowl back, that would be awesome.

Unless the MWC becomes a BCS conference, I don't see the Holiday Bowl being interested. If I were the bowl director, I would be hard pressed to change the current setup of the #2 PAC10 and Big Twelve teams. That's usually one of the better matchups of the bowl season with the only caveot being that usually one or both of the teams are "discouraged" because they came close to a BCS bowl, but didn't get there.

It's too bad that the LV bowl is one of the more poorly timed games. It makes the MWC look like a conference that no one watches when their #1 team has one of the worst ratings of bowl season.
