Observations on loss to SDSU

1. Different coach but same sucky half court offense. Lots of standing around and very little creativity or plays actually being run. We still set the softest screens I've ever seen. I'm not even joking when I say some kids on my son's middle school team set better screens.



2. SDSU hit clutch 3s and we did not. No, Jason Shepherd, BYU is not going to shoot 44% 3s every game.



3. The refs only called 1 foul on SDSU in the first 18 minutes of the second half. I've been a ref so I don't like to call them out but that was horrible. Greg Wrubel was pretty upset about it too.



4. We win with Childs and Baxter.

I only saw 3 minutes of highlights. Whoever put them on only showed SDSU's plays. BYU fan you are correct, we win with Childs and Baxter, in fact one of them may have done it for us. Haws, Barcello, Harding and Toolson did well but they are all under 6'7". We'll be playing small ball until the ncaa is kind enough to let Childs play unless Harwood or Lee step up.

I will say for having few bugs we hustled after boards.



We hustled on defense, which I liked seeing. Got a lot steals and disrupted passing lanes.



Offense is hard. There is no option inside. None. So the ball literally doesn't go there unless TJ drives it in and does something with it.
