There have been talks of expanding the tournament to 96 teams. I think that this is a bad idea. I do think that there are things that can be done to tweek the tournament.

1. No teams that have a losing record in conference can receive an at-large bid. Was just watching ESPNews, and they were talking about how South Florida is still in consideration. Right now, they are 6-7 in conference. That is just ridiculous.

2. Don't protect the top 4 teams in each bracket by giving them the most favorable first round location. We like upsets in the tournament. Make it more likely by only protecting the top seed.

Those are just two of the things that I would like to see changed, especially the first one.

Hate the 96 teams idea. It's only an attempt by the NCAA to get more money. I think it would backfire on them as no one would watch the first couple of rounds until the tournament got narrowed down to probably 64 or so teams left.

Why change the best thing in all of competitive sports. I do agree that some things need to change. Teams with losing conference records is a good example. But if anything making the tourney 96 teams would increase the number of those teams. 96=watered down version.

I don't mind if the NCAA expands it to 96, just give 32 of them to the NCAA football =P

Georgia Tech wouldn't be in right now either if teams had to have a winning record in conference. They are considered a lock right now.

They are considering 96 because they are considering scrapping the NIT. It would still be a dumb idea.

68 would be great.

And I'm all on board with the "must be above .500 in conference play, in OOC play, and overall" rule.
