I don't see why you delay if you're the MWC. If nothing in the conference changes, then you've still got BSU and a much stronger resume and better football for all. If Utah gets taken to the PAC or BYU to the Big XII, then you want another power school to fill the void and having BSU already accept an invite helps you do that. Waiting allows BSU to back out if any of the MWC schools get taken and then we're even worse off than before.

I agree Schome, BSU makes the MWC stronger and should be added in almost all scenarios.

Another question if the MWC adds several teams including old Big 12, why can't the conference go to the Mtn and say "increase the fees for the better product?" Help us make you more valuable.

Another question. Boise is the #112 market but wouldn't you look at the whole state since most of them are BSU fans?

The value in waiting, you may a) get bigger fish or b) don't see enough value in adding Boise State at the moment. The question is what is worth the most, especially for the risk. I agree with waiting, add to the fact that I don't think Boise is worth adding at the moment.

As for the mtn, if the confernece goes to 12, then the value will go up, and the price of the channel will also increase. The better names we have, especially in Kansas came, we could make a killing in basketball, and dish would take us in a heartbeat.

As for Idaho, many of the Idaho people I know are either USU fans or, more likely, BYU fans. Granted I don't know too many, but I wonder if BYU or BSU would have more people watching them

I don't think we'll get Kansas, but it sure would be funny to have Kansas in the MOUNTAIN west conference.

If 2 of the 3 big teams leave, or if they all do, I actually see the conference disbanding rather than trying to fill slots.

Also, this might not be the year for expansion. The Big 12 teams have to give 2 years notice to leave. The WAC only has to give one. So, the MWC can try and position themselves to get some of the leftovers of the Big 12 and still get Boise St.

Once again, it is all back on the Big 10. We will know by Friday, one way or the other, though. And I suspect that Notre Dame is not joining, so I expect teh Big 10 to make some noise. Hopefully, they add Missouri, stop there, go to 12 teams, and leave it at that. That will signal the next move to the PAC 10, which would be Colorado and Utah--at most. Which leaves the Big 12 two teams to add, and I think they stay together. Losing Missouri and Colorado only hurts the Big 12 brand very little, and BYU and TCU or another school could easily be added.

It seems like this is a big game of dominoes--waiting for the dominoes to fall. I don't like us being near the back of the dominoe pile i.e. waiting for all the other dominoes to fall before we get to make our moves.

I think it is also a game of dominoes. And if you ever have stacked dominoes, front or back usually doesn't matter that much if one of them falls, they'll all fall.

Adding BSU might just have been the impetus that starts the entire thing moving,(not to mention I don't think it adds enough to the conference) and most falling domino scenarios I've read about leave BYU out in the cold.
