The main issue on this is that there are simply too many players for any one person to know how this will all play out.

You are usually very credible so I am trying to figure out what it is you've been told exactly as you are still cryptic.

If the Big12 replaces Col and Neb, which teams do they choose? There are reports that BYU is first or second on that list to be added to keep the Big12 intact. Will they raid the western stretches of the BigLeast?

craig, don't undersell the Pac10, USC was moribund before Carroll restored them to the top of the Pac10. USC will appeal and I suspect they will get half their scholies reinstated and likely get only a one season bowl ban. IF that's the case, USC will be back in the thick of things sooner than later. What kiffin does remains to be seen, he might have been the only choice for the trojans with the NCAA report due out this spring meaning no other coach was willing to take the risk of even worse than what USC got.

As for Texas throwing their weight around in the Pac16, it ain't gonna happen. The Cali schools and Oregon and Washington schools would see to that. Ucla, Cal, Stanford are premier institutions with solid football programs... (okay so Ucla has some work to do) and their sports programs are the envy of almost all other schools. They will not bow down to Texas since California is still a bigger prize than Texas.

Further, with USC ineligle for bowl play, but still on schedule, another program will rise up in the Pac10. They'll be just fine. And unfortunately, it creates an opening for Utah should they go to the Pac10, to rise up sooner than expected. now that made me throw up in my mouth a lot!!!

""Foregone conclusion Texas goes to Pac 10.." Ausin Statesman reporter Kirk Boles on 810 WHB (he's saying that Nebraska is the lynchpin, they leave... Texas leaves)

He also made a comment that bloggers dont' have editors and that they can throw anything out there, while he has to goto his editor before he does a thing. (or rather, he' saying that he's more reliable then the irresponsible bloggers)

USC won't win anything on ther appeal. In fact teh Cleveland Plain dealer is saying that there are now more reports that Kiffin and Orgeron are being investigated for their actions at USC and Tennessee. USC is a lame duck for sometime. Count on it.

I read yesterday that the NCAA recently put in new criteria for challenging its decisions, and that they make it virtually impossible to win that appeal, absent new evidence to mitigate information in the NCAA report. And since this just will not happen, USC will be stuck with what they get. USC is about to get the Miami treatment from 1995, and Alabama treatment from 1995 and the Florida treatment from 1984 and 1990. Only Florida came out of it ok after 1990, without some terrible years.

Basically, the big boys will cut corners to win. 4 of the biggest names in CFB have gotten caught in the last 20 years, and this will continue on for sure. Too many coaches and ADs are morally and ethically ambiguous.

That's a nice way of saying fraudulent, liars, cheats and greedy, over-worked, overpaid exploiters of student labor.

The most hilarious thing I've seen in all this crap is that Missouri is keeping awful quiet now and even sending out emails to the students and staff saying "we are happy to be part of the Big XII". I don't remember who it was that reported it (might have been Schad) but I was watching ESPN last night and they said that if the Big XII remains in tact, they'd seriously consider kicking Missouri out of the conference for stirring up this whole drama in the first place. If that happened, they might get picked up by the Big Ten, they might not. But it sure would be hilarious to see that happen when Missouri was the first one to start complaining (on a nationwide scale) about the unequal revenue sharing in the Big XII. You mess with the bull (or longhorn) you get the horns.

810 WHB and the local radioheads are just crucifying Missouri for basically starting the whole mess. They say Texas can't stand them right now and they can't trust Missouri in the future not to bolt.

MU simply bit off wayy more than they could chew and are now backpedaling faster than Michael Jackson circa 1984.

The big question that nobody is asking is, how long until Masoli is back playing for Oregon. The coices are, by the last weeks of summer, by the first day of fall camp, by the end of the second week of fall camp, by the first game, or he's already been reinstated because he has learned his lesson and won't get caught again.

Utah to the Pac10

BSU to the MWC

BYU stays put.

Anybody else hearing one particular Wayne's World quote???

WE'RE NOT WORTHY!!! WE'RE NOT WORTHY!!!

Good work, McGregor

Hopefully the "BYU stays put" part will be amended to read "...until Jerry sweetens the deal to get a Championship game played in his Mothership." Can't say as I'd much complain about that!

I would also love to amend that statement. BYU certainly made its case for Big12 inclusion, but ultimately they didn't bite.
